Prospective President Kamala Harris

Performative indignation is less than impressive, especially given that the Urantia cult is all about color-coded races.
LoL! The Urantia Book still lives rent free in your head going on years now? I don't remember what it was that struck a nerve with the Israelite cult?

Mind elaborating a bit on that? I don't know a heck of a lot about Buttigieg, but from what I've seen of him, he's well-spoken, capable of delivering information in a deliberate and palatable manner, and focused on facts. His delivery seems to typically either shut up his opposition or make them look foolish. Harris and Buttigieg would easily engance the perception that Trump and Vance are immature children.

His name is also more recognizable than Shapiro.

It is a sad stateof affairs, but I think a black woman (I am going to vote vote for her) AND a gay white guy on the same ticket will lose. I like Pete; I am just saying that I am not sure that America is ready for such a ticket. Just sayin.

The posters here constitute a pretty diverse background. But I live in rural America and, for better or worse, most of my homies are not quite ready for such a ticket. IMHO.

Get Senator Fetterman from PA to be her running mate and - game over.

The media, Kamala and the dem party has lied to you for a long time about Biden's condition until 1 second prior to the debate.

A Trump supporter concerned about lying is rich irony indeed.

Just so we can all be clear as to what rises in your judgement as a disqualifying lie -- since nothing from Trump seems to meet that threshold - could you provide a link to the Kamala Harris lie that left you so incensed.

Can't we go one her record and her stances to date? She did run for president before. How about the border mess, I disagree with her on abortion, I disagree on her stance on green energy, I did agree on her tax policy, I disagree with her stance on Gaza, I disagree on her cash bail and minimum sentence abolition for starters. She also wants to decriminalize illegal border crossings.
The border mess has been with the nation for at least a month or two longer than the Biden/Harris administration, and always a problem. If I recall, Trump only built a few miles of his "big, beautiful wall," and Mexico didn't pay for an inch of it.

I do not disagree on abortion. You may think yourself in the right to dictate other women's use of their bodies and healthcare, I do not. That's a liberty I would not take away, as the party of "libery" so often likes to do when people don't behave as they'd prefer.

Trump and the GOP are promising to turn back the clock on everything that might save this planet from self-destruction, because they'd rather have cash than a planet to spend it on, but that seems to me short-sighted.

I think you will find that she is less tolerant of Netanyahu than Biden has been, but that's a hunch -- we'll have to wait for her to speak on the subject.

I have always been opposed to minimum sentences. Law-makers in Washington cannot possibly see every possible circumstance. A judge hearing the whole trial is in a much better position to assess the subtleties of each case.

On decriminalizing illegal border crossers, it's not like the U.S. has a real shortage of people in prison -- you're ahead of the rest of the world on that score. But do you really need more desperate people, seeking safety for themselves and their families, locked away, leaving their families in even more desperate straits than the ones that brought them to you in the first place?

I agree with your assessment, but I do like what I've been reading on Beshear. We do need to take Michelle's advice of the high road and stick with issues that can realistically be addressed for the American people. Health care, education, stability. And I liked reading that though Beshear believes in Pro-Choice, he's open to compromise on such a decisive and passionate issue.

My morning NYT email alerted me to the following piece in the Sacramento Bee:

the central question posed being: "But do Americans share enough disgust over Trump this year to forget their traditional misogyny when it comes to the top job?

We can expect more than enough sexist and misogynistic attacks (here as well as elsewhere) against "DEI Harris." Let's hope that this serves only to amplify the breadth and depth of the disgust over the MAGA-Project 2025 team.
Being female isn't a big problem to Americans. Have you forgotten in 2016 the American people gave Hillary almost three million more votes than Trump.

Trump is, in many ways, a reaction to this country's first black President. It's no coincidence the birtherism propaganda has been and is already being applied to Kamala Harris.
The qualifications for Pres are also the same for VP.
She already passed any hurdles on birth by being VP.
Its a dead end if they try.

Why do dems trust her or your party? The media, Kamala and the dem party has lied to you for a long time about Biden's condition until 1 second prior to the debate. The debate exposed their lies and now you trust her to be president?
Its politics. They aren't known for being honest.

I'm thinking that Mark Kelly from Arizona might be a reasonable choice as the Senator from a border state that can speak to the issues rationally

Securing Arizona’s Border and Fixing Our Broken Immigration System

Arizonans know all too well what it means to see Washington fail on border security and immigration.

Senator Kelly has seen these challenges firsthand in his numerous visits to the Arizona-Mexico border and in meetings with Border Patrol, mayors, local law enforcement, and Arizonans who live and work on the border. He’s introduced bipartisan legislation to require the federal government to develop a coordinated response that ensures a safe, orderly, and humane process at the border. Senator Kelly will continue to push the administration to provide better communication and more resources to secure our border.

Addressing this challenge must include investments in advanced technology and staffing at the border, upgrading ports of entry, more immigration judges, fencing and barriers where they make sense, and modernizing our legal immigration system to set up Arizona’s economy for success and keep families together. This includes protecting Dreamers who were brought to this country as young children and are just as American as Senator Kelly’s two daughters. They deserve a pathway to become American citizens so they can continue to contribute to our communities.

We also need to provide an earned pathway to citizenship that would require individuals to pay a fee and pass a background check for those who have lived and worked in our communities for years. This is a priority for Arizona and Senator Kelly will continue working with Republicans and Democrats, as well as the administration, to improve border security and fix our immigration system in a way that is true to our values and supports Arizona’s community and economy.

Also good on climate, infrastructure, education.

I agree, but I do wonder if this is the time to campaign on alternatives to the GOP Wall. This issue isn't an easy fix by any means, and will take more than even an 8 year WH run can bring about. However voters can invision a wall or string of fencing as a viable solution, as wrong as that vision is, where they don't begin to understand the delicate balance needed between the various reasons they come and our country's constitutional dedication to humanitarianism.

They also mistakenly think every foreign worker is undocumented, or illegal, with no idea of the company headhunters working to bring quality employees into the US under programs such as H-2A and H-2B Visa programs. With all the people wanting to get in, why are we sending recruiters out to bring people in?

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
We just assume Harris identifies a black/Asian women. That’s offensive! Has anyone bothered to ask??????
It's no secret she's a race chameleon. One day she's conveniently black, next day she's conveniently Asian, day after that she's conveniently Native American. (Corrected to American Indian as with India.)

I think her US census form had a multiple choice option. Very convenient and advantageous to switch races like that on the fly. eh?

The subject needs to be discussed rationally to take the fear-mongering GOP monopoly conversation away, He can speak to it and overcome Trump's border czar comments,

You mean the same way Trump used to be a democrat and his running mate once called him Hitler?
