The company is for profit. They may call themselves nonprofit but that's a lie. They don't give a **** about us residents unless it makes them money. Staff at lower levels often care but higher ups are very shady and after a couple of incidents here i wont get into i dont trust them with jack. That's all I'll say there.
That was my experience being a 'low level' staff.
I'm not heavily bothered by it. Seems most the clients here don't mind some even enjoy photos. I don't mind photos myself i just wish she had asked first

My mentally very ill brother just told me to stop texting him (I texted him several weeks ago and he read it then but oh well). He also told me to F off when I said "Sorry, but you don't control me." He is an idiot, I guess.
I don't know the context. I'd stop texting him to respect boundaries but again I don't know the context.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

Well, I only text him to touch base every other month or so to touch base. He did tell me he is moving to East Texas. Oh well, I am not there and he will be even further away from me so I guess that's good.

Another resident gave staff a concussion. He still lives at the group home. Despite multiple times showing he's dangerous. He needs a higher level of care. I avoid the guy I don't think he's so dangerous i cant handle him but I don't think he should be living in the group home I live in. It's not fair to him or the other residents

There's a 6th group home. How many group homes are in the area?? I've never seen so many people with I/DDs(intellectual developmental disabilities) in one place.

I'm with my people...if we can actually summon the social skills to talk to each other given half of us are autistic

I love how one of the people here in NC their campaign pitch is "And I'm running as a basically normal person."

Literally his whole pitch is politics has gotten crazy I'm a normal person vote for me.

I never heard of quadrobics until now:

That actually looks cool. I can incorporate that kind of thing in ritual when I do mental shape shifting. Apparently quadrobics is where someone moves on all fours and does tricks sometimes as a workout sometimes dressing up as animals while doing so. Its common among therians but one doesn't have to be a therian to do them it can be done as a workout in of itself.

The POV ones of therians doing quadrobics make my brain feel funny
That's one that especially made my head spinny

I was talking bout funny stories that happen when I was a kid. Here's one funny fact- one thing autistic people struggle with as children is learning to point. My younger brother when he would point up till he was like 9 or 10 would do so with his middle finger. He didnt understand why it was not the finger you point with. Like look at this lady over there(points at lady with middle finger).
Lady: excuse me?

Another fun fact- I as a kid would unintentionally roast other people and be confused while my classmates would laugh and high five me after because I was just being a blunt autistic kid. I'd also be immune to insults and bullying sometimes because I didn't realize I was being bullied or insulted. It'd really frustrate some bullies lol.

I wonder if I should make a thread full of funny stories related to disability. I have a bunch from me being autistic and such. And some wholesome stories. I might do that sometime idk.

Bully: you (insert slur here for intellectually disabled person)
Me: (cheerfully oblivious) actually that word refers to an intellectually disabled person! I had my IQ tested I'm not that. However interesting fact about IQ tests they are highly inaccurate because(starts infodumping) hey where you going I'm not done this is fascinating...

I legit had a conversation like that as a kid with someone. Multiple times before I realized they actually were trying to insult me. I genuinely thought they thought I was that slur and just didn't know what that word actually meant so I was trying to be helpful informing them.

I always struggled to find resources about an autistic child being a bully, as opposed to being bullied.

(One of mine is definitely a bully.)

I can see that. It's a stereotype that autistic people are always bully victims rather then bullies. It is very common for autistics to be bullied as kids but everyone is an individual and it is true some autistics are bullies. I can't give advice here as I don't know why your child bullies or what situations he bullies in. I will say I have bullied a few kids when I was a child because of peer pressure. Some autistic people can struggle with peer pressure as they are often social outcasts so when people pay them attention they can be easily convinced to bully others.

Well, my son bullies adults in authority, mostly. He usually leaves kids alone.

I think its a control thing. He bullies his dad a lot. I won't tolerate it if I hear it.

So he got wise, and started spam emailing his dad, until his dad tattled on him.
