"Religion of Peace?"

Seriously, are you capable of making any argument on this subject that isn't just beating a strawman into dust?

I don't know. Are you capable of making posts that doesn't show your arrogance and rudeness?

People keep saying "lolz derp strawman!" so much around here, it's pretty much lost all meaning at this point. Kind of like the people who say "racist" when something is not racist.

Do you have anything to contribute? Or is your next post going to be like your other posts, which consists of "You're an idiot because I say so. lolz" If you disagree fine. I could care less Say something of substance. You clearly don't like my posts or believe in conspiracies and seem to think all Muslims are the same, so why reply to mine? Do you know what you're doing half the time?

Do you honestly believe all Muslims think the same because they read the same book? Really?

Their own motives.

A book at teaches peace, I can still find murder in it. Buddhism teaches peace but I can warp its teachings for muderer. Christianity the bible teaches sacrifice so I can either follow gods example to sacrifice my child if I had one in the name of god or I can learn that god wants the highest sacrifice even if it coast your most precious item. Same as the quran and every book religious or not.

So, I go by the people. Islam the religion is a religion of peace. God defines their religion not Muslims. So going by Muslims do define a religion is not a good indecator that Islam in itself is not peaceful
Oh! So Muslims are allowed to make up their own school of thought?

It's not a made up school of thought, or a school of thought (what I said), it was a statement I made as a free thinking human being and not as a Muslim.

Every person is "allowed" to think for themselves, if you want to call it a "made up school of thought" so be it, I am unconcerned with such idiocy. If I can't make a statement without it being attached to my religious beliefs by some nut I'm not going to get mad or anything, just laugh at them/you.

And yes, a Muslim can open a school and teach a particular school of thought, there are famous schools of thought throughout the whole of Muslim history. People would relocate from distant lands to learn from famous teachers and go on to teach themselves.

There are many schools of thought in Islam today and within them sub schools of thought. I don't see what asking a question like that was designed to accomplish exactly.

But I hope this answers your question.

Really?!

This is not what I thought it was originally, I thought people were protesting Sharia since that was the discussion.

This would be so easy to stage, and people have staged mock rallies, recently a European nation let the "local clown" hold a mock attack with pellet rifles dressed as Muslims in fake beards and it caused quite a scandal.

This proves nothing regarding Sharia. Which is why my last comment was addressed as if they were protesting Sharia and I didn't really pay attention to what it was.

A couple nuts, maybe Muslims maybe not, maybe someone paid them or otherwise got them to hold some signs for the purpose of fear mongering.

It would not be the first or even tenth time, I won't assume anything one way or the other as I am aware of the large scale propaganda campaigns against Islam, the deliberate causing of fear induced by otherwise harmless concepts like Sharia, Jihad (which is not specific to war or one thing in particular, it means to struggle, in the cause of God, ie, good) and Taqiyya, which has been slandered as a license to lie whenever and to whoever, in the most extreme example and also most common, of slandering Taqiyya.

It's been happening since before the Crusades and after and died down for a while but is back even though America does all the invading, bombing and lies about its reasons for doing so, gets caught, and nobody does a thing about it because they are to busy worrying about Jihadi Joe.

Even though the Palestinians are forced to live in two separate, tiny, surrounded on all sides by Israel or the Mediterranean, prison camps, quite literally, and are deprived of the most basic human rights, freedom being a great example, can't travel to Tel Aviv but Israel can come and go in Palestine whenever it pleases and arrest people who walk on "Jewish roads" even if by accident with no signs to indicate they are Jewish only roads. Violate decrees of the UN and build illegal settlements in Palestine with no response from the international community.

And Syrians have been living in a 6 year proxy civil war, victims of Assad, Russia and American aggression. Instigating rebellion and then helping to suppress said rebellion is what was done, such treachery is the mo of the international community that cause so much mischief behind the scenes.

Making the victims the perps, Muslims in Syria, Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan, is crucial.

The best way to do this is take advantage of people's ignorance and create a false sense of crisis that is in this case "Radical Islam" which they created and know people will just hear "Islam" and ignore "Radical" and apply what is not referring to 1.5 billion people on 6 continents, to 1.5 billion people on 6 continents. Truthfully the amount of alleged radicals is in the thousands, a fraction of a minority in reality.

They know how ignorant people are because they raised you to be ignorant. Some of us can see past lies and cons, aren't fooled by propaganda and don't assume what is subliminally implied (because it can't be said outright) is factual.

Any who saw "Rules of Engagement" should know what I am talking about. The little girl shooting at Marines was so unrealistic and subliminal, never discussed even only shown in flashbacks, but is a powerful (and ridiculous) message.

Well there are about a dozen things in this post I disagree with. Start another thread and I'll debate you there. (BTW, you forgot that "Palestinians" also have Egypt and - if you're counting the WB - Jordan on their borders. Are you at all upset by how Egypt and Jordan treat Palestinians?)

You need to read more books. How about East Timor? Kosovo? How about the steady eviction of Christians from the ME?

I'm not claiming western interventions are ok - they are not. But "the west" are not the only folks invading and bombing.

I wonder why before 1967, and for a long time, Palestine was a peaceful nation that threatened nobody, had Jews and Christians living within its borders, had no role in WW2 of any importance, but was made to pay the price for the crimes of the Nazis and suffer a loss of status as a nation to make official the Nation of Israel in the near future a reality? In private it was plotted out during the war as a condition of securing American intervention on behalf of Britain. This is public knowledge now.

Based on the most absurd of arguments, "God gave the Jewish people the title deeds" to Israel, the "chosen people" according to a book from 600BC-200BC.

Yahweh gives, Yahweh takes, is what I also remember. And I remember Him giving it to the Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans and finally it became Muslim land until the savagery of the European Crusaders briefly took Jerusalem, Saladin took it back.

Proving how just Islam is Saladin didn't expel all Christians or Europeans and finally the two got to know each other and became somewhat friendly. This was far from the end of European hostility but the Muslim world didn't have to fear them much if at all, and the Crusades are the ultimate blemish on the history of European Christianity, proving they were brute savages with no regard for human life.

The Pope gave them guarantees of forgiveness of sin commited during the Crusades which they took full advantage of to murder and rape Muslim and Jewish women, kill all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, literally, and many other terrible crimes I am sure.

With the blessings of the Pope and in the name of Christ.

I need to read less books, it's time consuming and I have so many.

I was talking about slandering Islam and it existing since before the Crusades and after, that's a fact.

And I wasn't being literal by saying America does all the bombing, I was making a point that they are victims of foreign aggression.

I know you think if you make a sassy remark like "you need to read more books" you think you are making yourself look smart and me not, but I assure you it will only work on stupid people.

If anyone wants to call me out on anything I said I welcome it, I didn't say anything that should make anyone think I don't know what I am talking about or need to read more books, you mentioned two things, E. Tivor and Kosovo, but I don't know how it even applies to my previous comments about the Crusades and Western persecution and oppression of Muslim countries.

Did something specific happen there you would like to tell me about, I can't know everything and Kosovo and East Tivor aren't topics I spend time studying to know what exactly you are talking about and how it relates to me?

I have no interest in debating you or starting a thread about the loss of human rights of the Palestinians.

People would just be ignorant about it and say ignorant isht, people like you who claim things that aren't true about Muslims, don't understand simple concepts like Constitutionally protected religious rights that guarantee that Muslims can practice Sharia already, how that makes your claim about "polls" make you look stupid for believing (or fabricating) them.

Well this is probably going nowhere, but in the spirit of better understanding:

- I gave everyone the link to one of the important polls, it's not a fabrication. This makes me think that you're not really paying attention to what's being said in this thread.
- On constitutional rights, I gave you an example, I'll restate it for your convenience: Can Muslims in the US punish apostates legally? (No, they cannot.)

There is a total of ten people in these two picture that seem to have anything to do with what is going on, about 8 signs that all look like the same person made them, same font in both pictures almost perfectly, a few words are the only that size but the style of letters never changes just size.

One kid, two people in masks, a European guy in the background and a random person who looks middle Eastern in the top one.

Some really shady looking people outside holding signs that look like the State Department picked the words on them, it's exactly what they want people to believe Muslims want to do, exactly.

Any intelligent person who is dangerous isn't in public holding up signs. Imams aren't encouraging this behavior it would be counter productive even if they actually were trying to take over the world. With whose army will they accomplish this Herculean task? They can't even fight one war at a time and are going to take over 3 super powers, impose Sharia and force Islam upon the world?

Get real. They lost to Israel, a country that didn't exist yet that had some help but should have been stopped at the border. They already lived there is the thing, it was more of an overthrow/Invasion then occupation, annexation of all but 2 prison camps called Palestine.

But seriously. Pakistan and S.A. are American allies and they don't even pose a threat but are the strongest Muslim nations now.

Are people this dumb across the globe I wonder?

I have to say it again because it is so funny.

So people are afraid that Muslims, with no comparable military might to even do so and nobody willing to try, or wanting to really, are going to try and take over the world.

A world with at least 3 super powers, each with allies in the Muslim world, the most important nations, and people within almost every country already.

With what? Car Bombs? Suicide Bombers?

That is not a plan to take over the world. There is no plan and no will to take over the world.

Peace would be just fine. I think almost all people want peace.

I'm still curious to know how you define "gnostic"?

So as far as peace goes... well I don't want to live in peace if Sharia is the law. I want equal human rights for everyone, which Islam and Sharia do not.

It has nothing to do with religions.
When your law is a religious law, it has everything to do with religion. Tell us - honestly, now - how would non-muslim religions be received under sharia?

Adultery runs high in Europe, sharia law could fix that.
It needs fixing? That is those people's problem to work out, not your religion.

Alcohol number one killer, sharia law could fix that.
Cardiovascular (heart) disease actually remains the #1 killer in both Europe and America.

You don't have to worry about your kids doing drugs at school because under sharia law will execute drug lords.
Uh huh. And do "Drug Lords" also count the young people who grow their own (what you would consider) drugs?

Under sharia law non-muslims will be treaded like any other, in my view.

Sharia law will punish those who produce intoxications, unless its for medical uses. Prophet Muhammad once said "Allah, the Exalted, has let no disease exist without providing for its cure, except for one ailment, namely, old age’.”

In your view? Or under sharia law? We already know that you support ISIS in their blatant disrespect of other cultures and religions, so how exactly would that treatment be?

Adultery breeds adultery.
Prove it.

A study from 2011? Get modern.

Sharia law will punish those who produce intoxications, unless its for medical uses.
So you're going to kill kids growing pot in their backyards. Got it.

.

Do you think ISIS are the modern day Vikings?

"Some Norsemen did not wish to work for a trader or to become a merchant. They had no interest in farming or talent for making quality goods. Instead, they tried to get rich by looting. Raiding parties were composed of about 100 Viking men. By the time the people in the foreign countryside, town, or village they were looting had gathered together a group of men to fight them off, the Vikings had sailed away on their speedy longboats."

Sounds like modern day ISIS, if you ask me.
