Perhaps they should get better PR people. Some would say the Israelis are terrorists. Just depends on what side of the fence you're on.

I voted for no one. It's been said before here, but I'll say it again just cuz I agree completely: most religions at their core are based on good things, and that individuals who make their religions seem bad are those who are not to be accepted, not their religion.

Instead of Universal Unitarianism I should have made it Pagan beliefs, more pagans then there are UUs. And also, pagans are radically different than anything up there all the theistic beliefs are monotheistic rather than pagan (polytheistic) views, and atheism is already up there. Anyone know how to modify a poll?

since the media in my country is so biased to be a usually right-wing, terrorist-hating christian-loving media, all i ever see about terrorists are AL-ZAQARWI (i dont think im spelling his name right...) MUQTADA AL-SADR, OSAMA BIN LADEN. there is always something in the news a bout key al qaueda liuetenants being captured, and the only form of terrorists shown seem to be muslims. you never hear about a christian bombing a school, or a buddhist blowing up a marketplace. all you hear about are islamic terrorists. and absoluteley nothing else
the media shows what the majority wants to see. the government is making a huge deal about terrorism and they say it was muslims responsible for 9-11. therefore, americans believe that muslims are terrorists because they see it on tv. the media makes it worse by showing only muslims as terrorists. some realize that is not the case, but many people think all muslims are terrorists(from my personal experiences). the news channels do not care of course because showing muslims terrorists is what makes them money right now. no one wants to hear the truth about Islam being a religion of peace. the media does not report all the news, just the news that will get the best ratings and make them the most money. disgusting, but true. to many other countries, america is a big terrorist, bombing and killing innocent people and the like.

I didn't vote, but I would have to say that the only one I have a problem with is Jehovah Witness. I had the unfortunate circumstance of having married a man whose mother was a Jehovah Witness...very devote...and I learned quite a bit about it. The unadulterated pure conciete of the religion is what got me. It is a requirement of theirs to proselytize as the belief that all other religions are adamently wrong and those people need "saved". It is all nice to want to help others, but doesn't the bible itself say "Thou shalt not judge"??? The whole idea that someone comes to my door and tells me I am wrong and need to believe something other than what I hold dear is the most offensive thing I can think of.

Side note: I am more than happy to invite Mormons into my home and discuss religious differences, because to this date I have never had a one of them tell me I am wrong...they have shown more interest in learning other beliefs and broadening their mind as far as I can see.

Yes the Bible does say "Thou shall not judge". I'm not a Jehovah Witness, I'm penticostal. Anyway, I'm sorry if your offended that somebody tells you that you need to repent of your sins. It's the truth though. I'm really diguested that Christians today have forsaken their beliefs to "compromise" with other religions. Its flat out wrong! There is only one true God and only one true way to Him, and that is Jesus Christ.

I'm sure your going to argue, but first listen to this: Who was Jesus? Was he a liar, lunatic, or was He something greater? And if He was telling the truth (I believe so) then He is the only way to Heaven. So wouldn't that make all other religions wrong? (Judism is wrong to a degree... they worship the one true God, but some don't accept that Jesus was the Messiah.) And this deal... Believe in Jesus and we'll give you free stuff is absolutely sick! But back to the point... We are sinners "For all have fallen short of the glory of God." "For the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord." Think about it.

How can anyone reject Buddhism? You remove craving, you release yourself from anguish - simple as that. I guess you could reject the deification of Gautama (which i do, i believe that is exactly what he would not have wanted!), but you can't reject the philosophy because its true.

The Buddha is not looked at as a deity in Buddhism, although it may seem that way to outsiders, this is a common misconception. He is considered a savior-type in some schools though.

Many others do reject the philosophy of Buddhism because to accept it would be accepting a religion outside their own, which they cannot do, or feel they cannot do.

Maybe so, but i've seen in Japan a 10 foot gold Buddha figure whom people kneel before and offer coins too. If that is not worship i don't know what is. Also many call him Lord Buddha, i imagine Gautama would have slapped them and told them to listen to him, no?

Which is a real shame, because being rid of anguish i imagine would be a very nice place to be :)

This message board is generally extremely accepting and respectful to other religions. But, is there any religion that you strongly reject? Is it the religion you converted from you reject? Is it a religion that is the exact opposite of your own (like theists/non-theists)?
That's easy.....Jehovahs Witness. I've experienced it's evils.:149:

I have a question... Why is it that Christianity is the most unaccepted religion (in the poll) but paganism has only 1 vote? I think that is kind of strange... Isn't it ancient pagan nations that there "gods" required child/human sacrifice? Is that not barbaric? But yet we accept it the most. Really that doesn't make sense to me at all. And Satanism is a close second, but that makes sense. I just want to know why people "hate and despise those judgemental Christians."

A good question. Actually, modern pagans (to which I'm assuming the survey refers to) are normally peace-loving individuals, who abhor violence. So, I'm assuming by you meaning 'accepting', it is only natural that people who understand what modern-day paganism usually stands for can accept it. I fear, too, that Christianity has a very bloody past, as well. If you're wanting to use that as the basis of whether or not a religion should be 'rejected', then it kind of rules out Christianity, too.

Nobody here that I'm aware of 'hates and despises' anyone. If they voice that opinion, then they're usually not here for very long. If a person is hateful and judgemental, I dislike them, no matter what religion they're from (including my own).

Hope this helps! :)

personally, there's no world religion i would entirely reject. there may be some core doctrines or ideas i disagree with, but rejecting and entire religion seems a bit extreme. and regardless of whether or not i reject / disagree with what that religion teaches and practices, there will still be many, many people with great faith in it, and their faith will surely out weigh one person's grievances.

If you believe in a biblical God,as I do,than you reject Satanism. The only religion that is very vocal in its opposition to christianity, is Islam,as such I reject it.

^But why?

I know some satanists who are absolutely the nicest people I know. They go out of their way to help people.

Just because someone differs in their beliefs, you reject them?

That's like me saying, all of you are wrong, I'm right, end of argument, there is no God, and I reject you all.

I think you could reject someone else's religion, but you should reject it more so for their actions and earthly beliefs, rather than just rejecting something because it differs from you, or is the opposite.

I really don't know how to answer this question. As a religion, I reject anything but Christianity, because I am a Christian. As a philosophy I reject only satanism because it opposes Christ in all respects. In everything else on the list there are valid points to ponder and live by, and I wouldn't say that any message not from God is a bad message.
