I have a question... Why is it that Christianity is the most unaccepted religion (in the poll) but paganism has only 1 vote? I think that is kind of strange... Isn't it ancient pagan nations that there "gods" required child/human sacrifice? Is that not barbaric? But yet we accept it the most. Really that doesn't make sense to me at all. And Satanism is a close second, but that makes sense. I just want to know why people "hate and despise those judgemental Christians."
I think the reason for this, along with Feathers' answer is because Pagans tend to generally be accepting of all religions and all others regardless of their paths and so that acceptance is rubbed off onto them as well, where as there are more Christians who are not accepting of other religions. I think this ultimately leads to people being more accepting of Paganism than Christianity.

The majority of Pagans believe you can be who you are, follow what you wish and we will love and accept you anyway. We believe all religions can be valid in their own way and to their own followers. If you belief your path is the truth than it is the truth for you. Where as there are Christians (and I by no means am stating that it is the majority) who believe if you do not follow what they believe, your beliefs are not valid and you will burn in hell. I, too, would be more accepting of a religion that accepted me back, no matter what I believed, rather than one that condemned me.

I really don't know how to answer this question. As a religion, I reject anything but Christianity, because I am a Christian. As a philosophy I reject only satanism because it opposes Christ in all respects. In everything else on the list there are valid points to ponder and live by, and I wouldn't say that any message not from God is a bad message.
But, it seems as if you're justifying that they need to be rejected by saying that they're the opposite of what you believe.

I know the real reason though, I had Pagan added in WAY after all the other choices, I forgot to originally put it there. There is a post here of my thanking Scott for him editing my poll somewhere in this thread.

I don't reject any religion per see but I do reject groups within religions that corrupt and twist the faith until it's unrecognizeable. I am sorry to say this but I regard most of the right wing "born again" cult in the US as an example of this. As I see Christianity, there are no room for their behaviour of preaching intolerance as they do. Politically, I cannot picture a Christan as a right wing extremist at all, right wing is fine but not extremist right wing, I don't consider those people as Christians a all. Christianity are about love, not hate.

I agree, Niceguy. It's hard for me to reconcile the Christian message of love with the hateful message of such people as the Rev. Phelps.

I believe that all religions have not only validity and truth within them but they can all teach us a particular lesson. I learned several from Christianity and somewhere upwards of about a thousand from Paganism and Wicca. I know this is a crazy ideal for a perfect society, but we can all get along with respect and tolerance and most importantly education. Ignorance is the worst form of hate, for that is the reason so many hate. Blessings!

I reject all religions and I accept equal rights and civil liberaties. Every religion takes a firm stand on something and therefore opposes someone. The only aspect of religion that I don't reject is the possibility of a higher power/god(s). But when people take this notion and attempt to apply it to ANY aspect of human living, they assume a very dangerous arrogance. I checked every box except for "absolutely no one."

I picked one, and I picked all except Christianity.

Pagan:
1. One who is not a Christian, Muslim, or Jew, especially a worshiper of a polytheistic religion.
2. One who has no religion.
3. A non-Christian.
4. A hedonist.
5. A Neo-Pagan.

I tolerate every belief mainly (that doesn't mean that I won't argue on some points with each or that I tolerate absolutely every aspect of it).

I reject all but Islam and Judaism, for those two follow Allah(or YHWH for that matter) the closest, with no others on equal footing.

I don't reject anyones religions for the pure simple reason, that everyone swears by their life that they have the right one. Hypocrites are found in every religion. Try not to be one....that's my motto.

I just want to know why people "hate and despise those judgemental Christians."
I dont hate them, but they cant seem to be able have a civilized conversation with me. They find out Im not christian, and immediatly the "your going to hell" "your demon possed if you have any psychic/magickal abilitys" "the spirits you talk with are demons" etc., start.

I selected athiesm, because I believe in a spiritual world. Satanism becuase it is branched from Christianity, the same reason I picked Islam. Christianity because I live a lifestyle that goes against its rules, and I refuse to kneel before any man.

I reject Christianity, but only because I am surrounded by Christians who try to force their religion upon me, and I have ot reject it thoroughly to defend my own beliefs.
