The wage growth was entirely the result of 12 states raising their minimum wage, nothing to do with Trump and I assume they were all Democratic states., Black unemployment is up 1% from last year.

No, not true. minimum wage earners are a small portion of the work force.

Increases for workers in higher paid skill positions are swamping the relatively small increases because because of the increased minimum wage.

Black unemployment went up 1 % ?

So it is one point higher than the lowest black unemployment rate in 70 years of a month ago. Still very, very low, and right now the economy, Trumps economy, is creating more jobs than people looking for work.

Some conveniently forget that the Trump tax-cuts bloat the budget at the tune of roughly $1 trillion in one year, and it does so at a time when it's not needed. Where are the real conservatives who have long championed having a balanced budget? Must be asleep. :expressionless:

The increased revenue from a booming economy will eventually offset the trillion dollars.

Obama and Biden created an economy where Obama said the new normal for GDP was 2%, and the country would have to get used to it. Job creation was in the doldrums, Manufacturing was fleeing the country, coal mining was crippled and the oil industry was teetering.

When the well pump is dry, it must be primed with water, what you expect to get from the well.

Under Obamaś leadership, the national debt was increased more than all the the prior Presidents combined, yet the economy was very flabby. This was the typical result of high taxes, wasteful spending, and over regulation.

Government bureaucrats are the designers and implementers of ridiculous handcuffs on the people, reflected in one way by the economy.

US economy is booming. Wage growth, rise in productivity. Lowest unemployment ever. Inflation also remains low. Republicans have delivered on the economic front "bigly". There is a clear sign of sustained economic growth that will continue if the policies are followed through. Congrats to Trump and the Republicans are in order.

US economy adds 263,000 jobs in April. Unemployment rate falls to 3.6% - CNN

Which GOP/Trump economic policies have caused this success?

I've never understood why coal mining gets so much attention, there aren't very many coal miners.

Manufacturing will continue to flee the country until the world's economies become more tightly coupled. (Which might or might not be a good thing.)

The oil industry SHOULD be teetering, if it's true, it's a good thing.

Which is why the Socialists should never take over the reins of the economy again.

All that damage control Trump had to go through just to get to this point where people can actually get a little relief.

You get relief taking a crxp, Trumps tax cuts are less effective at providing relief.

That’s totally false. The economy is booming and it will pave the way for an easy win for Trump in 2020 (especially if one of these so-called Democratic Socialists becomes the Dem candidate).

The problem with hiking the minimum wage up too high is eventually it becomes more cost-effective to fire all the bottom-level people the company can and either making do with fewer workers working fewer hours, or moving to automation and eliminating those jobs from the market altogether. Truck drivers, restaurant workers and cashiers are getting absolutely destroyed by minimum wage increases. Small and new businesses can't afford doubling the wages for their employees, while larger corporations can. Mom & Pop shops and restaurants will be crippled by hiking the minimum wage to $15/hour, while your corporate overlords will just shrug, automate where they can, and continue on like nothing ever happened. All we get in the end is fewer jobs than we started with.
