This cat became instantly enlightened upon hearing the first words spoken by godnotgod at the opening to Plato's Cave, where he was held prisoner for decades, forced to listen to tedious sermons on the Doctrine Of Interaction and The Doctrine of Stagnant Backwater Buddhish-Like Knee-Jerk Dribble. Poor fellow! Thank you godnotgod!:D

lol, you can only see this cat when you quote the post. I was going to ask about the "emptiness of nothingness," but there seems to be more to it than meets they eye. ('scuse the pun)

I guess nothingness depends on an absence of somethingness. ;)

Yes, but the interaction is real only within this particular context of conscious awareness. On a higher level, it is seen as a fiction lost in Identification.

Yes our conscious awareness changes levels. That is because our level or degree of interaction changes. It is not that things are truly changeless or that they do not interact, it is that the level of interaction is so advanced or "high" that those interactions become virtually invisible. There is never a true nothingness, there is only a virtual nothingness...a seemingly nothingness. Your higher level of consciousness is really just a higher level of interaction. As Spiny Norman just posted..."Cosmic Interaction". Now that is something I can relate to. Unfortunately, you are stuck on this idea that those cave wall shadows must be caused by some mystical event or "Pure Consciousness". It is really no different than the old "God must have done it" for those people who fail to understand logic. It is not until you make the even greater realization that those cave wall shadows are the result of an even higher level of interaction, that you will realize that the nothingness you love so much is the real illusion. There is in reality no such thing as "Pure Consciousness" or "nothingness". It is all pure Interaction...and it is even backed up by scientific evidence!! Isn't that just fantastic?

Perhaps one of these days you will make this greater realization too, but it will require you to leave your shallow mystic ways in favor of logic and reason.

Oh, no, no, no. That would be to plunge right back into duality. See the problem? It is not a question of Reason vs Higher Consciousness, but one of transcendence of Reason to realize Higher Consciousness.

If Higher Consciousness isn't Reasonable, then I might question the "higher" qualifier in "Higher Consciousness."

Apparently, what he is saying is that one has to be out of their mind to intuit "higher consciousness". Things that make one go, "Um, you might want to rethink this approach!"

Exit question: Why are so many of the things discerned by the so called "Big Mind" and "Higher Consciousness" that we have all seen presented in this thread so feeble and pathetic, amounting to little more that statements of faith?

Reason is the product of thought. Higher Consciousness short-circuits the thinking mind, as in Zen koan:

'What is the sound of one hand clapping?'

It is about SEEING, not THINKING

Big Mind does not come into play until Monkey Mind is quieted down. Big Mind does not come out of Monkey Mind; Monkey Mind comes out of Big Mind. Big Mind leaves no trace, has no history, no memory, like a perfect mirror that reflects perfectly all it sees, yet retains no image. That is why it seems 'feeble' to you, as it cannot be proven via factual evidence. The apprehension of Big Mind is via direct experience, and not via faith or belief.

Monkey Mind is already crazy, as the current condition of the world is testament to, always putting the cart ahead of the horse. Higher Consciousness transforms the mind, putting them into the correct relationship. It's called 'balance'.
