We do have something similar to a purgatory but you got there due to your own actions. It is only for a 12 month stint at the most and everyone goes, no one gets a "get out of jail free" card.

Cool :) We get a pass from an atheist. WOO!!
I'll admit I don't know a whole lot about Hinduism outside of my dad (who is sort of everything I guess), but ya'll seem chill to me.

Yeah ummm Judaism doesn't have a hell and we don't condemn anyone to it either.
Yeah, though your big guy in the sky still has his rules. Ya'll get an easy pass as far as I'm concerned though, for staying primarily as a folk religion (at least on the more conservative ends of things). I admire that.

Rules were invented by greedy men to control weak men. Such is life, some religion is good at sucking in the weak with a promise of betterment when in reality they're preaching false hope with no rewards. Its always been about who has the most sheep and not about God.

On this I will have to disagree with you. Judaism does not attempt to "suck" in anyone. To say that it does indicates that you know nothing about it.

Im directing it mainly at christianity and Islam. Ill be honest, i know nothing about Judaism.

Setting conditions in order to recieve rewards from the Gods is also a tyranny. Stand in line or be punished is another way of saying it. It gives even more of an insight into who wrote such books, men who yearn for power. Divine beings shouldn't require submission and dedication from their subjects for satasfaction.

To be honest you probably don't know much about Christianity or Islam either...

Go do some research on how the Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessing be upon him) lived his life even after he overcame the persecution... he had all the wealth of the land at his disposal...

Initially, they and other leaders of Quraish tried to bribe him with money and power including an offer to make him king if he were to abandon his message...

His house was but a hut with walls of unbaked clay and a thatched roof of palm leaves covered by camel skin...and when he died there was nothing in his house except a few seeds of barley left from a mound of the grain obtained, from a Jewish person, by pawning his armour.

Question: Do you have to submit to Allah to make it to heaven?

If so, thats a tyrannical God. Why would Allah need submission?

Allah does not need anything from us… If you want to go to heaven then you would do what it takes to get there… You will not have anyone to credit but yourself for the choices you make…

There are still conditions. If you do certain things you are sinful in the eyes of your God and will go to hell. With that in mind, there are boundary conditions and therefore rules.

I think you should maybe ponder the depth and value of the issue before cramming it into a gross generalisation.

But the thing is, even if his statement was ultimately incorrect, the general feeling expressed by it is true. Even if these tyrants really did exist, they should be opposed.

I make no special considerations for any religion, and i don't see why i should have to. I'd like to be proven wrong, but sadly i wont be.
