Same Sex Marrige By a Church.

I agree.
Though I also do not see anything wrong with his disagreeing with other interpretations.
Nor do I. But he's said that churches who don't follow his interpretation should lose their tax exempt status. Hence my ire.

The thing is Archer, that interpretation of the Bible is inevitable, and it's not your place to say how churches other than your own should interpret it.

In a different time perhaps. With the constant attack of the secular world on all believers that wont jump on their boat I feel drawn to speak out against this. You said your Church does not use the Bible I believe (correct me if I am wrong), so you are not the one I have issue with. I don't care about the Church of "fill in the blank" in this matter.

Christians are called hypocrites enough, but in this case hypocrisy is being pushed on the church. Dangerous ground in my opinion.

I would not take it that far.
At least not unless he can prove in court that his particular interpretation is the one true intended by god interpretation.

But then, with the only one who can tell us for sure if his interpretation is the right one remaining silent....

But it's not hypocrisy to value Christ's teachings above theological legalism.

I disagree.
Seems to me that Christians have more than earned the label hypocrite.
Problem is that it is no longer politically correct to call a spade a spade.

but in this case hypocrisy is being pushed on the church.
Define church.
Seems to me that a church is nothing more than a collection of like minded folks.

Now think this through a second.
IF a church is a group of like minded people and those people are hypocrites...

Dangerous ground in my opinion.
How so?

Seems to me that most Christians are much more concerned with the theological legalism than what Christ had to say.

See any thread on same sex marriage or divorce for prime examples.

Believe what you want, don't force your beliefs on others, make sure your beliefs do not harm others. I think that's fair.

Sad but true. :(

Still, the exceptions deserve recognition.

As I have said I separate my personal feelings from this. We all know there is no harm to Christians from homosexuals. All people have the same core feelings and emotions, some of us are wired different from others.

I never said not to love, sticking to your gun's is not a lack of love it is love above all (for some, there are some sick people out there). I love the Lord and the teachings of the Bible are not in line with the world.

Matthew 24:9-14 (New International Version)

9"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Please understand I am not condoning hate, my faith demands that this course I follow. I will be ridiculed but that is the path I have chosen. I do not follow false teachings.

But when it came to the real needs of humanity, Jesus stood firm on the principle that all theological or legalistic bets were off.

I do not follow false teachings.
Bold claim.
One that you cannot support with anything other than your faith that you are not following false teachings.

Problem is that most of those who you claim are following false teachings, have just as much faith that they are not.

And again I must point out the absence of the only one who sort out who is and who isn't.

Please. He said go and sin no more, not go and suck some more. Jesus was a Jew and a perfect Jew.
Except he was a blasphemer and an insurrectionist. And he thumbed his nose at religious convention by working on the sabbath. Not such a perfect Jew, after all.

Which is the greater sin? To condemn those folks to lonely lives, or to go against a certain interpretation of the Bible's take on homosexuality?

Have you read this freaking thread? I said nothing about not letting the same sex get married outside of a Christian Church.

I read your freaking post. you said "Jesus was a perfect Jew." He was not, or he wouldn't have been crucified.

Lord of the Sabbath
1At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them. 2When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”
3He answered, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? 4He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread—which was not lawful for them to do, but only for the priests. 5Or haven’t you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple desecrate the day and yet are innocent? 6I tell you that onea greater than the temple is here. 7If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’b you would not have condemned the innocent. 8For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

And the last statement is patent blasphemy, according to the Judaism of the day. Any way you slice it. Therefore, Jesus was not a "perfect Jew."
