Science vs Faith

BTW: why assume God's purpose has anything to do with life when virtually all of the universe is fatal to life?
well sure.....if you breath .....you will die

but I believe the design will yield a spirit
and the will to live counts for something

Well it is hard to imagine a life force not being alive....besides..

:)
So the universe thinks in English? ;)

In French, for instance, the same phrase would be "fils sous tension" ("wires under tension").

Frankly, the wackiness of that post was completely in line with the wackiness of the one before, so there was no way for me to tell that the second one was a joke.
'Wackiness' is not a reasoned argument....if you want to engage in a mature manner...please be reasonable...

Certainly not as humans conceive of life....but likewise on the macro side of things...humans generally do not see stars and galaxies or the universe itself for that matter as being alive...

That's right. So are are proposing some non-humans who perceive the universe as being alive?

Even animists, such as myself, who DO view the universe as living, recognize that under the modern definition of living, stars, galaxies and the universe itself do not qualify as living--as they do not respire, ingest, get irritable, etc., in anything resembling the biological sense.

Big galaxies eat smaller galaxies....stars eat comets...planets eat asteroids.....they all respire in a form...em radiation.... As for consciousness....how would you know....a thousand years is like a second to a human.. Besides, how can life form and live in something dead? If the Earth had no life.....all the life forms would live, move, and having their being in a 'corpse'... how would the cells in your body live if you were dead?

So some humans perceive the universe as alive? Based on what evidence?
I am a human....and I have been explaining. Life forms can only be born in longer living life forms and be sustained by life forces.... If you think otherwise...show me the evidence...

Metaphorically, perhaps. Life (as it is described by science, at least) is an emergent property of certain kinds of matter in the presence of energy flows. None of the components of biological life are themselves living...how is this mystery possible?o_O:confused::eek::rolleyes:

Yeh......it's like the 1984 big brother propaganda " War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength;"......here it is ...unconsciousness gives rise to consciousness.......dead gives rise to life...

No, it's not like that at all. I'm sorry to learn that in your version of reality, that's how you perceive things, though.

....actual reality is forever on the other side of human perceptions...

In which case "actual reality" is forever an unknown. An unknown that some fill up with religious beliefs and metaphysical speculations.
