Logically, I would think it can survive oxygen, since sharing razors, drug needles, and other sharp objects that have blood on them, are exposed to oxygen, and are potential carriers.

I understand that you think it's weird, and that's ok. But you can't expect BGLT to wait a couple of generations for people to get used to them. This is their life too.

And btw, when I was a kid I thought it was weird too. I don't anymore. It doesn't take generations. All it takes is being willing to put one's socially conditioned reactions aside and talk to people as people.

I agree that it shouldn't have to wait, the sad truth is a minority group doesn't just get something. And since it's still a relativly new issue, politically speaking, it could be awhile longer.
Myself, I also thought it was wrong, but that was back when I was programed by society to think so.

As I said I was only repeating what a trained person in that field said! I think you need to check your biology and understanding of the circulatory system though as deoxygenated blood and oxygenated blood are always seperate - we would be dead otherwise!

Im not trained enough in the area to understand fully myself. Yes, it is warned that you can catch HIV from under the nails etc, but I think that may be more of a "Better safe than sorry". You should know what health and safety is like now adays - I mean kids cant play with conquers anymore! It is still prob likely but not to that great an extent. Where as sexual intercourse, your dealing with a much bigger chance of getting it!

If I ever see him again, Il get him to explain it better and then post it on here!

First of all, HIV is a VIRUS. Viruses cannot die, because they are not considered to be living in the first place. It's complicated to explain, but if you want to know all the gruesome details, I'm sure Wikipedia could hook you up.

That said, if your blood is infected with HIV, it doesn't matter if it's oxygenated or deoxygenated--you're infected, and that virus isn't going anywhere.

Yes. The reason for that is because there is no such thing as a legitimate reason to ban gay marriage.

I guess to receive protected status, you must not make it a choice or anyone could choose to be a minority any time they like. The blacks should have had it so good.

While I sympathise with the current situation, I find it upsetting that anyone would even dare to compare homophobia to racism. Gay and Lesbians were never slaves or had to take the back seat on the bus. They are not economically repressed or had to live on a certain side of the tracks.

Tell it to Coretta Scott King (widow of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King). If she says it's the same, why shouldn't we say it ourselves?

Technically they can die, as if they have not got a host to "live in" they do not exist! otherwise we would never be able to get rid of them, when we can git rid of them! Small pox for exampkle - VIRUS - has been eradicated! but anyway this is going WAY OFF TOPIC!!! As I said in posts, I was only stating what someone trained in Infection Control had stated!

Anyway I am not going to talk about Viruses anymore, I am upto my eyes in revision for my Medical Microbiology and Virology degree and so am rather fed up of them!!!!

Many times it is more influence in our society that promote many to come out ,but it has it's root in perversion and sensual gradification ,face it we live in a society that points to free expression and sexual freedom and then they try have it sanctioned and make it as if it is normal and natural to have anal sex.
That is as unnatual as beastiality is or any other thing that is contrary to the observable function of our anatomy

When genes are crossed in this case and organs of both sexes appear you have a abnormality , there is a problem with the DNA.
There is a problem,it does not mean well that is how I was born I must carry that orientation, wrong.
In this day and age,there are many of those abnormalities that occur in reproduction and those who are presently living.
With all the toxins and poisons we ingest ,pollution etc.is it any wonder
