And once again you failed at geometry and geography. Even from the top of Everest you would see less than one tenth of a percent of the Earth's surface area. Nowhere near even the redefined world that you tried to use. That verse only applies to a flat Earth. Then of course there is the "circle of the Earth" verse which is even worse for you in its original Hebrew. That can only describe a flat Earth.

Try again.

Edit: Ironically you even claimed in effect that Jesus was not God and only cared about the small part of the world he knew of. Either way you end up losing this argument.

Not really. It is you who are seeking to twist the scriptures in order to make them say things they are not saying not me. There is no scripture to support flat earth and you know it. You really need to read more History and study up on your geography. There is nothing in the scripture you or your friend have provided that says the earth is flat. That is your assumption. As posted earlier he scripture only says he was taken to the highest part of a mountain and shown the kingdoms of the world. During Jesus’ time on earth (28–30 CE), the Roman Empire was at its prime, covering all of the known world at that time, from Lusitania (ie, Portugal) and North Africa in the west to Mesopotamia (ie, Iraq) in the east, including Judea, which, for nearly a century, had lain under the mastery of Rome, as well as Gaul (ie, France), Greece and Egypt, the both of them having lost their own renowned empires long before the Roman Republic. How this was shown to JESUS is not recorded.

Your welcome ;)

Faith-confidence in what we hope for (Hebrews 11)
Well, if "owph" is to mean "flying creature," since many, many insects fly, shouldn't it apply to them, as well? Yet that is not a mistake made in Leviticus, is it? I mean, the list doesn't go on through the list of forbidden birds, followed by bat -- and then butterfly, now does it?
Bat is a flying creature, and they were among the flying creatures (aka birds at times) that were forbidden to eat for the Israelites. The Bible, by using 'oph' (Hebrew) there is not wrong in its categorical application of bat. It is a flying creature, and doesn't look like an insect.

No, I am not doing that at all. I am reading them as they were written. Sadly you cannot face the fact that the writers of the scriptures had the understanding of most people of the Earth at that time. It does not attack their intelligence, it merely faces facts. You are trying to reinterpret them because they are clearly false as written.

Nope. Mathematically-speaking? You cannot see the entire surface from a high place on a ball/sphere-- Matthew only works, if the world is flat. YOU LOSE. BIGLY. Since that seems to be the character of your "argument"? A big "Is not" repeated with your fingers firmly in your ears? I will simply ignore the remainder, as being of the same nonsense.

Not really. As posted above nothing in the scriptures you provided said what you claimed they said. So you have no argument. In relation to the top of the mountain. This has already been addressed to someone else in this thread. As posted earlier the scripture only says he was taken to the highest part of a mountain and shown the kingdoms of the world. There are some things that are poetic, or metaphorical in expression. There are other things in the Bible that are written as figurative and not literal.

Yet-- you think it's literal proof of a round earth claim?

Hmmmmm..... there is absolutely ZERO references in the silly bible, that describe a spherical or ball-shaped earth. None. Nada. Zip. Not one.

LOTS of places in the bible that describe ... a flat plate.

LOL!

Sure you have. You are twisting the scriptures and try make them say things they do not say. I have posted each of these scriptures above and gone through each one and they do not say what you claim they are saying. You just won't accept it because you do not believe God's Word because you claim there is no God. According to the scriptures only a fool says in his heart there is no God. What is your excuse?

Wow.... your pathetic and lame EXCUSES sound flat... just like the bible's earth.

Worse! Would not the Creator Of Earth KNOW ABOUT THE REST OF THE PLANET?

No? Just as we thought-- the bible's god was as ignorant as it's creators: Bronze Age Goat Herders who had no idea what happened to the Sun, at night.

A WISE man would shout it from a mountain top.

So where does that leave YOU? Hmmmm?

100% false. There are lots-- the bible NEVER-EVER uses the Hebrew word for "ball" to describe the earth. Ever.

It uses the Hebrew word for flat plate. Every time.

Sheesh, it's as if you are not even trying!

What is false? I went through each of your scriptures earlier and posted them all and none of them said what you were claiming they were saying. What do you claim is not true and why can you not prove what you claim? Perhaps it is because you cannot.

No, you only gave a poor excuse for reinterpreting them. No twisting by me. Plenty by you.

The fact is that the Bible only describes the Earth as flat in word and deed. But then that was most likely the belief of the writers of the Bible.

Actually it was a fairly accurate description of the writers of the Bible. That is no name calling. To expect them to know more than anyone else that they knew would be unreasonable on your part.

Tell me, how do you deal with the even more obvious errors in the Bible?

Nonsense, we posted up all the references you provided and went through all the texts one by one and they did not say what you were claiming they were saying. So yes you were twisting the scriptures to try and make them say things they were not. The fact is your wrong and you cannot prove your claims from the bible and it is annoying you. Be honest here show me a bible text that says the earth is flat? If you cannot why do you pretend that the bible is saying things it is not? This is simply dishonesty on your behalf.

I would not know you are yet to provide any errors as shown above. Does this not worry you? It should. How would you feel if you find out too late the the scriptures were all true standing before God on judgment day? I will leave you with the last say. Seems you need it more than I do, as you are simply denying what others share with you and only repeating youself now so the conversation does not seem to be going anywhere.

Thanks for the discussion though it was nice talking with you :)

Theoretically, a person could see approximately 140,000 square miles from the top of Mt. Everest on perfectly clear day, with perfect vision and without any obstacles.

Source reference: https://www.quora.com/If-the-view-w...-the-horizon-before-the-Earths-curve-hides-it
A circular area of 140,000 square miles indicates a radius of 210 miles, which from Mt Everest would encompass the area in the circle in the map below.

Not much to brag about is it.

The translators don't what animal the Hebrew word translated hare is being referred to

It certainly isn't a hare because God would only use animals the people were aware of and hares are not indigenous to Israel

Really take a beginners Bible course

And I suggest you take a beginners zoogeography course. :p

"This is a list of the mammal species recorded in Israel. There are ninety-seven mammal species in Israel, of which one is critically endangered, four are endangered, eleven are vulnerable, and three are near threatened.

Order: Lagomorpha (lagomorphs)

The lagomorphs comprise two families, Leporidae (hares and rabbits), and Ochotonidae (pikas). Though they can resemble rodents, and were classified as a superfamily in that order until the early 20th century, they have since been considered a separate order. They differ from rodents in a number of physical characteristics, such as having four incisors in the upper jaw rather than two.

Family: Leporidae (rabbits, hares)
Genus: Lepus
Cape hare, Lepus capensis LR/lc
European hare, Lepus europaeus LR/lc"

Nonsense. Your making this up. The Hebrew word used for firmament or sky in GENESIS 1:8 is H7579 רקיע; râqı̂ya‛ From H7554; the meaning is properly an expanse, that is, the firmament or (apparently) visible arch of the sky: - firmament.
Sorry, but sojourner has got you dead to rights. :D

Strong's H7579 in the following manner: draw (15x), drawer (4x).

Outline of Biblical Usage

1 to draw (water)

A (Qal)
i to draw (water)
ii water-drawing women (participle)

Strong's H7554 in the following manner: spread... (6x), stamp (2x), stretch (1x), beat (1x), made broad (1x).

Outline of Biblical Usage

to beat, stamp, beat out, spread out, stretch

A (Qal)
to stamp, beat out
one who beats out (participle)

B (Piel) to overlay, beat out (for plating)

C (Pual) beaten out (participle)

D (Hiphil) to make a spreading (of clouds)

Oh brother, here we go. All of your so called objections are nonsuch and have been rebutted before. Simply put you are just regurgitating long since debunked pablum.

More to the point you are simply displaying openly your own baseless hostility towards scripture. It is actually pretty sad.
Yeah, among a few others here I figured you'd be one of those who, lacking the ability to mount a defense, would have to resort to ad homs. Thanks for reconfirming my opinion.
