Bidding starts at 1 million.
Should it be legal to sell myself into slavery?
Good question.
You certainly have the right to sell your labor, your time, or your other efforts,
& to obligate yourself to perform. But ownership.....I see no value in making
that legal. Being in the military is the closest thing, & I loathe that.

Why? I can legally rent space as part of the service agreement with a prostitute. What about a long term rental agreement rather than ownership transfers?

You can already do a long term rental agreement.
I'd just like to include sexual services.

Why? By what measure do you assert such a middle ground must exist? How do you determine one act should be legal and not another?

You have undermined your premise already of being able to do what I want with my body without causing harm.

My line of thought is the principle of doing what I want with my body without causing harm is a horrible legal basis. I said nothing about people not harming themselves as you never did. Your objection has no merit.

"Why? By what measure do you assert such a middle ground must exist?"

On what measure did you just decide prostitution is the same as gutting yourself? Personally, I used common sense to realize the are not the same thing.

"You have undermined your premise already of being able to do what I want with my body without causing harm."

Is that the premise you are assigning to me arbitrarily?

"I said nothing about people not harming themselves as you never did."

But you just told me my premise was, "with my body without causing harm."

Please, make up your mind on what I am thinking.

You are dodging the question by asking a question.

I decided it is the same based on your premise. "nobody should be able to regulate what a person chooses to do with their body so long as it does not infringe on the rights of other." Your basis not mine. So you tell me... What is the difference.

Personally, I used common sense to realize the are not the same thing.

Common sense is not an argument. Anyone can use it. It is common sense as per your own premise that these are the same. Now defend your point rather than invoking a slogan.

Is that the premise you are assigning to me arbitrarily?

No it is the premise you wrote in your own comment thus you assigned it to yourself.

But you just told me my premise was, "with my body without causing harm."

You said nothing about harm or harm to one's self. You said rights of others. Read your own comment which has trapped you.

Please, make up your mind on what I am thinking.

Please actually make an effort to read and comprehend what I have posted.

Show me where I said that. You used quotation marks so I want to see those exact words.

You really like to debate yourself, don't you?

You said Corporate America is slavery. So if so employment is illegal according to modern law. Thus for it to be legal slavery must be legal.

You seem not like people attacking your weak arguments or pushing for you to defend your assertions and premises.

I am fairly sure you are not even debating me.

You have my apologies. You didn't say it another user did. I assumed you were that person. My mistake.

Lets roll back a moment. You replied to my comment here

So I can legally sell a kidney to the highest bidder and toss my donor card in the trash bin?

Which was in response to

Not only would it give regulation and safety to a dangerous industry, but nobody should be able to regulate what a person chooses to do with their body so long as it does not infringe on the rights of other.

Do you agree with the comment I responded to?

No, that is too open ended.

So what basis beside "common sense", which isn't common nor makes sense, for the illegality of providing a rental service for use of my kidney?

Go look up Dutch statistics when it comes to sex trafficking in order to supply a demand for exotic.... products...

non-consenting prostitution is rape and slavery which are and should continue to be illegal. I'm talking about prostitution where all involved are informed, consenting, and adult.
