So...I've officially started testosterone therapy!

Is that a serious question? Would you ask that of a person who has any other medical condition?
Yeah it was a serious question.
And yeah I would ask it of any other person who wanted elective treatment when they are not willing to take care of themselves. Why do you think you are entitled to hormones you won't have pay for when half the human population doesn't have clean water?

For your information, treatment for transsexualism is not "elective". It is required for us to be healthy, functioning human beings. Transsexualism is a medical condition and hormone therapy is part of the treatment of it. What you're saying is like telling a person with diabetes (for the medical aspect) or a severely depressed person (for the psychological aspect of it) that they should give up their required medication because they're poor or someone is starving in Africa (which has nothing to do with someone on the other side of the planet receiving medical treatment).

Not that it's any of your damn business but my testosterone prescription is paid for out of pocket. It is not covered by my insurance merely because I happened to have been born into an XX chromosome body. But if some cis male can't get it up or doesn't feel so energetic, they'll happily cover it. (They'll cover the heart meds, too, if he develops heart problems due to taking too much testosterone when he doesn't need it.)

Please take your ignorance out of this thread. It's offensive.

So you can find a way to pay for testosterone, but not your rent?

Transgender hormone treatment is considered medically necessary for certain individuals by organizations like the American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association.

It's not considered elective, and he's entitled to proper medical care as determined by him, his physician, and other professionals.

What is or is not considered medically necessary or elective is determined by major research studies, by examining the amount of distress that procedures can relieve and improve, and not by bias of random internet strangers.

For the same reason you and I are entitled to basic health care when half the human population doesn't have clean water. I don't really see the connection; that many people lack bare needs doesn't mean that we should trivialize or underestimate the importance of other needs, like health care. And as has been pointed out, hormone therapy for transgendered people is not elective; it is a fundamental part of their well-being and psychological health.

I suggest reading more on the opinions of professionals instead of making judgmental statements about other people's priorities. Transgendered people face a lot of difficulties and their lives are unnecessarily made harder in many parts of the world because of uninformed and judgmental statements like these.

Uh... Colombus, what's your problem exactly ? You're seriously being really mean here. Give Saint a break, you're neither a judge or a model to follow to and for anyone.

Anyway congrats Frank, so it is going smoothly for now ? :0

My voice is rather embarrassing right now. It cracks like crazy and goes up and down and sometimes sounds "rusty".

Oh, and I'm really turning into a bear at this point. I've started to sprout some hairs on my upper lip and more hairs are growing on my chin and underneath my chin. My stomach is growing some serious hair all over it and it's started to come in more and more on my chest. The same is occurring all over my thighs, legs, arms and hands. I've noticed that my legs are actually hairier than most guys' I've seen while out and about (lol). I had hoped and figured that I would be fairly hairy, but wow, was I proven right.

(Let's not even mention what's happening down below. Lol.)

So my body is taking to the T fairly well, I'd say, and it's been only about 3 months. Lol.

Just got back from the doctor's office where I got a shot of Depo-Testosterone in my right butt cheek. I feel so accomplished. So fitting that my rebirth occurs in spring. I still can't believe it's actually happening, after almost 6 years of waiting and disappointment.

Wishing you the best! :rainbow1:

Hey there man, good to know your improving even more and more :)

Don't worry about your voice. A man is a man. One of my friends had this girly voice until half way through college and had some kinda surgery (didn't ask him about the details) in the audio cords (dunno what they are called) and it changed a little. My cousin is in college right now, has a girly voice and does not even care about it :). We actually used him more than once to trick some fool on voice chats haha :D

Anyways, stay cool man :)
