UK is socialist. It might be, but both capitalist and socialist countries might do that.
Many countries consider what is underground and what is in the air belongs to the nation.
This is the case in the UK.

I've read it plenty, thanks. I didn't make an error. Your OP was without nuance or "spectra". Then you said you see spectra. Those two things contradict each other.Read it again.
You'll see your error.
Then try to discuss it....if you dare.
You didn't explain in what ways those things are "highly regulated". And again, as I mentioned, "a lot of regulation" doesn't mean "good or proper regulation".It varies with the industry.
I deal with housing codes, zoning laws, building codes,
rent control, Fair Housing laws, consumer protection
laws, self storage laws, signage laws, financial regulation...
....just off the top'o me head.
We have been watching this pathetic circus for days, with Harris accused of being a socialist. This discussion reminds me of this old meme:

Try to understand it too.I've read it plenty...
I explained enuf.You didn't explain....
It's one thing to follow the rules.
It's another to use them abusively.
I'm unimpressed with the claimed higher morality managed under American rules
of British & European culture & business.
I expect a higher standard of fair.
And US based lenders deliver.
Then it's not socialism, as defined
in every dictionary.
Of course the majority of Chinese people support
their government. They dare not, or they disappear.
That's how U.S. politics work.We have been watching this pathetic circus for days, with Harris accused of being a socialist.
Just because she wanted to regulate the pharma market?
Imagine if she had vowed to make free universal healthcare. She would have been called Soviet Communist.
It has always done so, at one time what was under your land belonged to the king. You could obtain a licence to mine.UK is socialist.
As directed by their owner, RSB,The company you dealt with was american under American rules.
In all deals the buyer beware.
This doesn't change its history. The RBS GROUP has changed it's name to NatWest and has returned to private ownership by buying back shares. However it is still something of a lame duck. I do not know anyone who uses it now.
"Might"?That might still be the dictionary definition.
I don't claim that modern China & Russia are still socialist. But it is no longer how socialism operates now. Not even China nor Russia. And only partially true of north korea.
You've missed my reference to ChinaThat is a very American concept of China, that is also outdated.
Speaking of monarchy, once princess Anne was asked by a student what it was like to own Buckingham Palace. It has always done so, at one time what was under your land belonged to the king. You could obtain a licence to mine.
All land wse in the kings gift. He often gave the lordship of entire counties to favourites.
To day we are a parliamentary democracy. We have embraced many of the attributes of liberalism and socialism .
I recall an interview with a refugeeSpeaking of monarchy, once princess Anne was asked by a student what it was like to own Buckingham Palace.
She replied that that Palace is owned by the State. Not by her family.
The State is the supreme entity that manages whatever is public.
Capitalism is what enabled big landowners to exploit slaves in their cotton plantations in the South...you know...Scarlett O'Hara?I recall an interview with a refugee
from an Eastern Bloc country....
"What's it like to be exploited by capitalism?"
"Much better than being exploited by socialism."
Have you ever considered that you might
enjoy your time here more by discussing
issues, rather than playing annoying word
games with them?
No need to try. I already understand it, which is why I'm accurately pointing out that your OP contradicts your subsequent claim. Of course if all you're interested in is making silly snide remarks that don't foster discussion, then maybe don't waste everyone's time.Try to understand it too.
Nope. You mentioned some areas that you say are highly regulated. You didn't explain in what ways they are.I explained enuf.
Nope. Sorry that I'm actually trying to have a discussion on a discussion board, and you don't like that I'm asking you to actually support your claims with specifics. But I'm not going to just run along. I'm going to continue to point out that you can't just make claims without support. Now, run along, unless you plan to switch things up and actually attempt a meaningful discussion, rather than throwing out stupid, snide remarks that waste everyone's time. Now run along.
However they do own a number of superb private properties that they upkeep them selves, even though they do do public service from them.Speaking of monarchy, once princess Anne was asked by a student what it was like to own Buckingham Palace.
She replied that that Palace is owned by the State. Not by her family.

As directed by their owner, RSB,
& its owner, the British government.
This doesn't change its history.
"Might"?
Pbbbttttt!
I don't claim that modern China & Russia are still socialist.
Duh!
You've missed my reference to China
before it employed capitalism.
Don't be dense.
It's typical for you socialists to find every exampleCapitalism is what enabled big landowners to exploit slaves in their cotton plantations in the South....
