Apparently now resolved, but why change something that was not broken?
The old software was too outdated and broken to sustain the forum any longer. It also rendered forum maintenance essentially impossible and caused server lag. The only option other than this update was shutting down the forum or letting it deteriorate until it no longer worked at all.
Why the software update?
At first I wasn't too pleased with it, but further small updates are clearly making everything better. It'll be allright, I'm sure. It already is in most important ways.
Any chance of getting all old frubals back?
BothDo you mean the ratings that disappeared from posts and accounts' rating counts because those ratings are no longer in the software? The owners are looking into whether it's possible to retrieve them. There's no guarantee that it will be possible, though.
If you mean the ratings themselves—such as "winner," "informative," etc.—we can manually add similar ones via the admin CP. We're just waiting to see whether that will be necessary, since an add-on might be able to help there.
What's the "edit widget" and where can I find it?I just noticed all the new (and until yesterday, missing old) functions in the tool bar of the edit widget. There are so many that some had to be hidden behind four (!) "more" buttons. Progress.
Applause to those involved.
The part of the screen you wrote your message in.What's the "edit widget" and where can I find it?
OK, understood. I don't see a vertical ellipse but I do see all the buttons. I don't think I ever used most of these before, just Bold, Italic, Font size and Colour - and that's it.The part of the screen you wrote your message in.
At the top you see the tool buttons, a vertical ellipse is a "more" button. You will find that there are now buttons for almost all the things we had to use BB-code for in the previous version, like strike-through and spoiler. You can also now drag-and-drop pictures. I haven't tested all the functions but what I have used, works perfect.

S you meant the vertical dots. Alles klar. That View attachment 72723is a vertical ellipse.
Edit: No, it isn't. Just looked it up, in English there is a differentiation between ellipse and ellipsis. German is missing that differentiation.
Thanks! But what strange frubals I would never use...Hover over the 'like' button and the other options will appear.
They appear but I'm buggered if I can get them to post. Hence I have to just Like everything; even the ones I hateHover over the 'like' button and the other options will appear.
Do you have the same ones I do above? They appear but I'm buggered if I can get them to post. Hence I have to just Like everything; even the ones I hate
Are you on a mobile device? If you hold your finger on the like too long it highlights them and you can't post one. The tap has to be brief, but not so brief as to just like the post. They appear but I'm buggered if I can get them to post. Hence I have to just Like everything; even the ones I hate
When they pop up just tap or click the one you will useThey appear but I'm buggered if I can get them to post. Hence I have to just Like everything; even the ones I hate
I tried that...When they pop up just tap or click the one you will use
You’re more than welcome to practice on my posts.I tried that...
OooooooYou’re more than welcome to practice on my posts.
(I have to make up for that missing 12,000 ratings somehow. )
