All the featured thread statistics have gone :(

I had 196 and was in joint fourth place with @SalixIncendium

And a thread I made yesterday which has got enough replies to become a featured thread has not become a featured thread :(

On the bright side, you're up to 197 and have now surpassed me.

You can keep track and announce it whenever you want.

It's water under the bridge but my rage at the change would have been a lot less if there had been a warning a few days before
Aye, just giving advance warning of some inevitable
change can soothe the savage tenant, poster, client,
customer, voter, etc.
I wonder who knew what when? Perhaps staff had
advance knowledge of the change. But they would've
avoided enduring some barking & biting if things had
been more transparent.

Hi, all!

As we have all noticed, the forum software has been updated. This update is still ongoing, and new features may still be added. The tech people are not done yet with the work.

Please list any and all issues, feedback, and bug reports you may have. Everything you say here may help with the update and improve forum functionality.

Thank you!
The only concern I have is with the visual.
With the help of a user, I was able to revert to the default style, and see things clearer, but I still think the style is lacking.
I have seen some apps that are terrible when it comes to UI and Workspace styles, because the developers want eye candy appearance, but don't seem to have a clue about colors.
I often wonder if they have a graphics designer on the team.

It's really bad on the eyes to use color combinations that are either too high in contrast, or too low in contrast.
For example, I once used an IDE that set the font colors to bright green and yellow. Woah. Then they had dark green on dark grey. What!
This is terrible.

Contrast is very important for our eyes... when reading. Blends are okay for appearance. Not reading.
Everyone knows black on white is excellent. If I like yellow, and I do this. I like yellow. I am sacrificing usefulness for appearance.

Other than that, the font is good. The default is as it was originally. It seems to have faster load time.
What I would like to see, is a few of the frubals return, like the useful, and informative, because sometimes I think a post has something useful, but not everything I agree with. So I have to forego rating it.

As was said before though, the work is ongoing, so I will wait and see how it turns out. However it goes, I am not complaining, so long as I can see what I am reading and writing. :)

In my opinion ...
(a) the banner is truly ugly,
(b) when quoting, the name of the person quoted is near unreadable, and
(c) I see no easy way to list or indent.

Why are we doing this?
Someone helped me with (b)
Go to your profile -> Preferences -> Change the style to default.
For (c), a user said use
text-to-indent  It actually works. :D
"["Indent"]"text"["/Indent"]" Remove the quotes.
(Bullet points may be the same.) I assume [Bullet][/Bullet] Bullet does not work this way, evidently.
It may not be the easiest right now, but maybe when work is complete, it will be just as easy as automatic quoting, which I think is a great addition.

Haven't had any issues.

But a nice feature I think would be useful is the ability to resize images that you link in a post. For instance, I might link an image which is 1200x900, which would be massive in the post, so having the option to change it in the post would be great.

I can relate. If ever i was asked to be a mod (don't laugh) it's the reason I'd turn down the offer.
I can understand. When I was asked to join the staff, it was mostly because I felt my experience had something to offer the forum and I felt I could assist assist in keeping the community I joined friendly, civil, and respectful.

We knew the update was inevitable, but we didn't know exactly when it would happen. When the site went down for the update, a couple of us actually had no idea whether that was planned for the update or accidental.
