Suicide ??

Then I shall have to call BS on your post, because it's nothing more than a highly subjective "values judgement" that has no reflection or basis in reality. Basically a "shame on you" for denouncing people who are suicidal as illogical.
Ouch! Subjective is as subjective does. - sort of borrowing a phrase from Forrest's mom.

I get suicidal, cuz if I'm dead, no more responsibilities, no more need for food and hygiene, no more need for money, no more pain, and I hate noise, chatter, and cars

More of a "stupid is as stupid does," as those such as Alan Turing, Clara Immerwahr, Lawrence Kohlberg, Hans Fischer, Ludwig Boltzmann, and many other scientists who took their lives were people of astute logic. Again, shame on you.

Might. But sounds pretty "me, me" Some say "Poor baby". Some say "Suck it up." My feeling is to try somehow to drop the "me, me". Some do that with religion; some with anti-religion, some with work, some with study, some with chat rooms and forums - whatever works.
I really don't get what you expect of people...of course people who are feeling depressed, feeling oppressed, feeling a failure, etc., are saying "me, me." What do you expect them to say, when they are experiencing these problems? What do you expect them to do, when confronted with pressures that are overwhelming?

And really, there's a hell of a lot of space for responses between "poor baby" and "suck it up." Being understanding, and asking someone "what might help?" comes to mind.

Sometimes people need more than "whatever works" in dealing with the problems in their lives, because they themselves don't have the resources (money, social support, time, knowledge, etc.) to effectively deal with their issues. Yes, some find church or whatever as a way to deal with their issues...many others self-medicate (which often contributes to the problems, too)...And often, there is the social stigma associated with mental health issues, and there is the very real problem of people increasingly not being able to afford or get access to the medical, psychological, and social services support they need to make "whatever works" actually work.

If you've been depressed, if you've been suicidal, and managed to get out of it without help, well, good for you. Seriously, that is wonderful that you were able to do it yourself.

But to me, it sounds an awful lot like you are saying "Me, Me. Look at ME! I was able to get through tough spots without trying to commit suicide, so YOU CAN TOO!"

But understand that had you had maybe just one more problem dropped on you at your deepest moment, you might not have been able to do "whatever works" to get through it without help.

Myself, I wouldn't expect anyone to address it alone, or wish it upon them. I did it without support, and it probably lasted way longer had I had anyone to support me, and I probably wouldn't have attempted.

WHO also reports the trend, but globally. Approximately we stand at approximately one million people dying from suicide each year, about one death every 40 seconds. It's predicted to reach about one death every 20 seconds.

It's a proven fact poverty kills more Americans every year than every act of terrorism ever committed.

People in their early 60s become too depressed by the prospects of becoming old with unbearable pain so they take the easy way out.
More like addressing the pains of society neglecting them because of their age. America, like it or not, is terribly ageist and not too many people are talking about it.

It's seems every few months something happens to my body where I think, "Gee, that's going to be with me for the rest of my life." It's only comical because it's so tragic!
