Until you bite the bullet and fix it.

I lost my bathroom floor to a tiny leak I couldn't find whenever I looked for it.
Finally found it, only leaked when I sat on the toilet and the tank to bowl joint leaked down the back where it disappeared into the wall if you didn't catch it. Ten bucks for the toilet parts and an hour labor plus half the bathroom floor.

If you are renting you should be able to sue. They will fix it soon then, contractors are cheaper than lawyers. Didn't help me, I owned it.
Crap, I gotta find a good contractor.

I wanna sue anyway. This guy is really ticking me off.

Getting the US healthier AND lowering our overall costs is the goal. Not raising our taxes. Lowering them.
Since your taxes and insurance rates ultimately pay for the uninsured anyhow since they get health coverage though at expensive rates because hospitals are not allowed legally to turn people away. ultimately, universal health care will save money,

I hope so, because right now people come to the US in spite of the cost for the best medical care. Don't know if that will be the case after universal health care, with insurance required most likely. I mean, if it's not, Lord help us.

Americans expect private rooms, instant gratification, etc. Not likely.

This keeps sounding worse and worse. I think I would get serious about moving out. The building may end up being condemned if the mold and water damage is severe enough.
Yeah, like, I'm now waiting for the entire side of the building to just fall off lol

I'm not so thrilled about the thought of inhaling mould all day long either.

Thanks for you all thoughts on this. I'm thinking of just moving out asap and suing. Landlord is a jerk anyway, and kinda deserves it.

I heard this was about tampons in the boys bathrooms. They are not complaining about them in girls bathrooms.

Back when I was young, if this had happened, many of the boys would be throwing them at each other, via tampon wars; variation of spitball wars. Some would soak them with water and then throw them at each other or even try to stick them to celling or the clock. That would be very wasteful and even awkward for the girls, if the games and the comedy, spills into the halls, classrooms and recess. Being crude would also happen. It could do some mild damage to the girls; friendly fire from the unruly boys looking for attention. Boys have way of inventing a new game with anything novel to them; just for laughs.
Well, if that's the worst thing that happens, I think we'll be fine.

If you want a service that isn't basic, and you have the money go ahead, but this isn't about you, it is about fairness to all the citizens of the country.
I'm not making it about me.

And people from the US travel to other countries because healthcare is more affordable.

A friend of mine took his grandson who has autism to another country for stem cell therapy. He says its helped quite a bit.

It's even worse than that - he owns a cat - and a fearsome one at that

If it weren't for the Diet Dew lunacy I would think you made that up.

That sounds good. I guess it goes both ways. But I will tell you this: I knew a woman who was a British citizen. She didn't buy any insurance, she just did the local thing. HER BABY DIED because of a lack of care, and meanwhile she was in a ward. So....like I said, it can go both ways.

America has a higher infant mortality rate than the UK.

If the government wants to help people, they should stop this nonsense.

"In 2022, U.S. prices across all drugs (brands and generics) were nearly 2.78 times as high as prices in the comparison countries. U.S. prices for brand drugs were at least 3.22 times as high as prices in the comparison countries, even after adjustments for estimated U.S. rebates."

For the record..

"More than 131 million people — 66 percent of all adults in the United States — use prescription drugs"

So many arguments against abortion are that fetuses can feel pain. Yup, pain is inevitable with any nervous system. But do the far right ever tlk about the pain of a defective infant suffers due to being born, and struggles as it dies of natural causes? No. I find that immoral. I also have a problem with the elderly dying slowly in hospice, as I witnessed for my mother. I don't want to wither away like that. There's no point to it, no quality of life. We don't let our pets die that way, we put them down out of mercy. I find it odd that we extend that love and concern for our pets but not humans.
I could not agree more and I've often thought the same about the way we treat pets versus our human loved ones.
Within the laws. I wouldn't have a problem with compassionate ending of life.
Me neither.
It's odd that the "pro-life" want to stand by and let nature take its course even if it causes pain and suffering. The label "pro-life" doesn't really mean moral and compassionate. It's a political label that has a political meaning.
Exactly.

At least around here in the Peoples Republic of New York (upstate) as twilight called it. If you have mold actively growing in a bathroom due to a leak and not you, that is an occupancy certificate code violation and they will make the landlord fix it. Go to the local housing authority and they should be happy to help, especially if it is a landlord who has peeved them by doing it regularly.

Unfortunately this appears to be a comparison of Gross pricing which only the uninsured pay and I'm not sure how useful it is as anything but a talking point. From the link.

"IQVIA MIDAS sales and volume estimates are projected from IQVIA’s audits of standardized list prices and manufacturer, wholesaler, and other invoices; they do not reflect net prices realized by the manufacturers"

"Americans spend more on prescription drugs than anyone else in the world. It’s true that they take a lot of pills. But what really has set the US apart is how much drugs cost. Unlike in most other countries, their prices are set without direct government intervention. A new law aims to change that for certain drugs for elderly and disabled patients who rely on the government’s Medicare health program."

My mom, MIL, brother, grandmother and dad all died under hospice care, of different things but still...I am sorry your mom suffered but it didn't seem like my relatives suffered.

Less than 2 days before my mom died, she was still witnessing so to speak, and I was able to tell her that.

When I had facebook I had a friend on there that if they started getting a cold that evening, instead of waiting until the next day to go see their Dr, they would go straight to urgent care, if it was closed they would go to the emergency room.

I know this because they would always post a picture of themself on facebook and say "getting a cold and had to go to urgent care/emergency room.

Big waste of money IMO.
