Ya'll just making me feel older, and older. But I'll keep the details of why, when it comes to this subject, to myself. LOL
I am that old, and even older. If anything everyone should have the same lessons at the same time. That menstrual cycles are "dirty" is started and reinforced by how they are taught about in public schools. And even worse, but of course this is Florida is considering banning teaching even young girls about this basic fact of life:

Can't say I haven't thought about it before :D
Actually splitting these open and using cattail cotton (and other botanical absorbants) as rag fillers was the norm before commercial products. My mother-in-law informed me of these tricks of womanhood from her young life, just in case the knowledge was ever needed. More comfortable than Spanish moss I imagine. LOL

Oh I bet they had to get pretty creative, back in the day. And if we look at those cattails that way, then that means someone else most definitely has before.

There's still an ongoing leak somewhere too, that nobody can seem to find the source of. We've had everybody and their mother come through this bathroom multiple times. The hardwood floor is a squishy mess. The ceiling and half the wall is caved in. Can't I just like, hook up the toilet somehow?

I've been going next door to the Tim Horton's to pee and change my tampons. They don't have free ones there either. :D
That much water damage can't be hard to source. The usual culprit is the wax seal between the commode and the floor drain. As the floor rotted around the base of the toilet (from a leaky supply line, a cracked toilet, a bad seal between the tank and the commode, excessive 'sweating' from a toilet that runs constantly ...), the toilet began to 'rock' when people sat on it and the wax seal underneath failed. Now every time someone flushes it waste water escapes into the space under the floor and onto the ceiling below. So someone has to pull the toilet to inspect it. And may as well replace it at that point. But now they'll have to fix the rotten floor, too. And the water damaged walls and ceiling below that may well have become a mold issue. Money, money money. So maybe the landlord would prefer to pretend it's a great mystery rather then paying to actually fix it all. Just sayin', I've seen lots of this sort of thing over the years. It's not rocket science. A toilet is not a complicated nor an expensive mechanism. But they can be expensive to fix if they've been allowed to leak for a while. Waste water does a lot of damage.

There's a fairly big charity project for sewers to use their scrap fabric to make washable pads to be sent to places like Uganda, Haiti, etc. We have fun laughing about things like this, but it's real life struggles for many.

Walz just took a break in his speech because he spotted someone in the outside venue having a heat issue. He called for help, and waited until the rally guest was okay again. Then he spoke to the audience to take care of each other. The man is "a good person" for real!

What is clear is that they attacked Walz for doing just that. So you are contending that they attacked a Democrat for doing what they're in favor of. So rather than being against free tampons in school they are complete hypocrites. That is another interpretation of their actions which might indeed be true for some.
No, they said they were against putting tampons in boys bathrooms not against providing them to girls.

'Real' meaning effective, positive, meaningful change. Like universal health care kind of change as opposed to the Obamacare band aid kind of change that the democrats managed to barely muster. I mean a universal living minimum wage kind of change as opposed to spotty and mostly ineffective minimum wage hikes that are far too little and far too late. I mean real across the board tax reform that close loopholes and make those who gain the most pay the most, and those who gain the least pay the least.

You know, all the kinds of real, meaningful reforms that "conservative" (greedy) republicans fight so hard to deny.
Ok thanks, I don't think Harris is against these things.

Yes! That's exactly what happened (the rocking toilet thing). I've been telling everybody it seems like a problem for a loooong time now.
Now every time someone flushes it waste water escapes into the space under the floor and onto the ceiling below. So someone has to pull the toilet to inspect it. It seems to be in the wall beside and the ceiling above as well, somehow.
And there's definitely mold; I can smell it.
Nobody has pulled all the flooring up yet. I'm afraid to see what that's going to look like.
So maybe the landlord would prefer to pretend it's a great mystery rather then paying to actually fix it all. Just sayin', I've seen lots of this sort of thing over the years. It's not rocket science.
You're definitely onto something. Our landlord has been known for being quite the cheap skate. Which is probably why we're in this mess to begin with. Honestly I'm surprised he hasn't just given us a bucket to go in at this point.

And that's exactly what has happened.

Thanks for your all your helpful knowledge. Are you a contractor or something?

I think about stuff like this often. I didn't know there was such a thing. What a great idea.

Wow, a guy who actually gives a crap. What a novel concept! I'm loving this guy more and more every second. Keep it coming!

Compared to the Mango Mussolini's response in Las Vegas.

Maybe the woman (NOT WALZ) who made an issue about it was thinking of a trans boy who was still having periods? I don't know but again to complain about what one Democrat did is to give me license to blame everything any Republican did on Trump.

And besides is just a MAGA attempt to reframe the discussion by picking on something Walz did not do and use it to derail everything he and we stand for.

WE WON'T GO BACK.

Would you believe that MAGA is attacking TIm Walz, the Democrat VP candidate for making tampons available i schools? Flailing MAGA media settle on strange attack against Harris VP pick Tim Walz: “Tampon Tim” Yes, they are really that stupid.

Reminds me of the decades old controversy over condom dispensers in public restrooms. Some just couldn't get their minds wrapped around thinking women might actually wish to obtain one and deserve the opportunity.

Who knows. Maybe once in a while a teenage boy needs to take a couple home to mom. Why worry about it?

Probably. I am just relaying what they actually said. You are saying things about what conservatives think that they never said.

Often ya just gotta start tearing out walls, floors, &
ceilings until there's access for diagnosis, repair, & rehab.
It'll cost what it'll cost.

Augh! Sounds expensive!

Hey, my water faucet that WOULD NOT TURN OFF cost me over $500! And this wasn't on a weekend or anything like that either! A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT DURING REGULAR HOURS.
