It's okay as long as you figure out beforehand that the last petal you pluck isn't "He loves me not."What about picking a flower and disecting it?

Here here. Punish them how they hurt that dog.I wish I ould kill these two kids. Seriously, I can't even begin to think up the ways I would like to torture them, and I've got a damned good imagination when it comes to things like that.
Why not take to a vet?A wounded animal is in the middle of the road. Do you hit and kill it or let it suffer?
Why not take to a vet?
Those 'kids' are in deep need of mental help... they are a risk to the rest of us in terms of future violence. Anyone who can so easily attack an animal in such a brutal way is only a step away from being able to commit violence against humans.

My husband got mad at me one time..It was pouring down rain and we were in traffic..The car ahead of us had apparently hit a cat.The cat didnt appear to be dead(to me)..it was "jerking" around.I told him to stop..he said we can just go around it Lana the cat is dead or dying..I said no what if it is alive..we cant just let the people behind us run over it..
He obliged..The cat was havign those last minute "jerks" in the back seat.
You should have seen his face the time he came home from work and there was a dead pigeon on our bed.He said "why is there a dead bird on our bed"..I said well I thought it might still be alive..He said no ..its dead Lana.
I just cant imagine dousing a dog ..down with gasoline and watching it burn.

haha I'm glad my wife doesn't put dead things on our bed. :biglaugh: :clap
Lucky you!
I couldnt help it..It wasnt in my mind completely dead.
But yeah I feel sorry for my husband. It didnt stay on the bed for long.He made me acknolwedge the rigamortous.(you know the stiffness).Sooo..I think we wrapped the bird in news paper and and he put in in the trash can. There isnt a whole lot of other places to dig for graves around our yard.

If you're inclined to this kind of thing, next time I'd opt for a shoebox with some grass in the bottom rather than a bed. Dead or dying backyard animals will be just as comfortable as on your bed, and it's healthier for you.
IOW..I ONLY put ONE DEAD bird on my BED....can you cut me some SLACK man?

Hey, one never knows.
A wounded animal is in the middle of the road. Do you hit and kill it or let it suffer?
Oh. So if I really wanted to understand about a dog's organs and could not afford a book and felt bad while I did so, I could kill the dog and disect it? It's all okay as long as you feel bad?
And does that mean that a boquet of flowers is torture? My mom didn't need roses for mothers day. So I suppose I tortured those roses so that she could have them, because they had to slowly die since their roots were gone. I didn't even know I was torturing the flowers...
I can and did, and I think what I said was spot on. I think she's sick for torturing creatures, and I think she should be ashamed of herself. That's how I feel about it.No, it's just the way things go when you are condescending about your opinion. It's not that you disagreed with her. It's that you were talking down to her. It would be nice if you could read your writings objectively to see what I mean. I've learned that you can't, though.
I get angry at double standards in people, and I get even angrier when they end up being disrespectful to life - it's a gut reaction to me.mball said:That's great. Then say it in a different way. Just say "I think you're being disrespectful to life". That would have been worlds better than what you said.
No, I haven't. Obviously you know whereismynote much better than you know me. I couldn't kill anything unless it had done something to me first. And then, yes, I'd feel bad for it.mball said:OK, so then you're saying you were wrong before and you've never swatted a mosquito or fly? I'm willing to bet you've killed an insect on more than one occasion even though it was only an inconvenience to you, not a threat.
No.mball said:I'm not arguing about what you feel. I'm arguing that regardless of what you feel, there is a huge difference between killing a bug and killing a dog. If you can't acknowledge that, then there's something wrong. You may feel that it's wrong to kill a fly, but it's still a much different act than killing a dog.
I'm not sure, but you sure seem to be defending them - these imaginary people. :areyoucramball said:Now, you're arguing against a strawman. Who here has said they'd do this now? I've heard several people say they did it as kids, including Hannah.

No.
I said that it's wrong to torture things - including bugs just for fun.
I said that it's wrong to torture any living thing just for fun.
Whereismynote... said that she enjoyed putting hot wax on creatures just for fun.
THAT is sick. And you may not think so, but then again, I think it's wrong that you DON'T think so - and that's just going to have to be the way things are on this one.
I'm not sure, but you sure seem to be defending them - these imaginary people. :areyoucra
Think what you want. I think that kind of thing is awful, even for a child. My Mom would never have let me do things like that to any living thing. She used to take the spiders outside on a newspaper if they were in the house. She taught me respect.WHOA!!
Buttons come on ..she was just a little kid.Kids do weird stuff like that sometimes its normal. We dont identify with bugs like we do mammals.
You are beign way to harsh on Hannah.
When we were little we use to smush up lightening bugs and get the "lilght" out of them and draw on our skin with it.We were afraid of snakes too and in Florida we poured tourpinetine down a snake hole and then stuck the hose in it to drown them out.
We didn't know any better. Its not like we are proud of that.We are not sick and mean people.Hannah lavishes love on her dog like he's her own flesh and blood child.I have raised and cared for and nurtured many animals and with much expense as an adult.
I think you need to cut some slack for some weird stuff people do as children.

It's a tough call, and I don't think you actually care anyway. Is keeping an animal from suffering torture? No. You already know my answer.
Maybe I'd take it to a vet.

But I believe in personal responsibility, and hannah seemed to be bragging about her stint with abuse of small bugs. She has admitted that she doesn't even feel bad about it. So really you're defending someone who's perfectly fine with torturing things so long as it's not cute and cuddly. That's wrong to me.
