No.It is the same as the laws today.It is a warning.There are consequences.God is giving you His laws.You either follow or you don't.If you break a law in this world you might be put in prison or sometimes put to death.This is the law of the land.Same with God's laws.If you break them you are liable and must answer to God.

so its like comparing it to being told " naughty naughty if you don't follow"

how ever old we are as a human on earth ...... We are still children in gods eyes and need to be told to be good person ( child )

i believe the true understanding of certain things what the scriptures write about will only be understood the instant we hit heaven IMO ....... Maybe

Jesus and his disciples kept the Sabbath, it was man who changed it around the second century as Metis pointed out.

Because they are the Jews. Not because that it is in the New Covenant. Jesus didn't verbally omitted it without a reason.

Many people say that Jesus did away with the ten commandments. But that does not mean it is OK to kill someone. It is not OK to steal or commit adultery. In fact the only commandment they really think is done away with is the one about the Sabbath day. So what did Jesus really do about the commandments? Did He eliminate the need to obey all ten? Or did He eliminate one but not the other nine? Or did He not really eliminate any of them?

There is nothing wrong with defending your family, but according to the holy scriptures,it tells those who follow God not to kill.When Jesus was captured and arrested Peter struck the slave to the high priest on the ear and chopped it off.Jesus told Peter, "No!" Jesus not only told Peter to stop and place his sword back, but Jesus also healed the man who's ear was cut off.Jesus peacefully went with these men. Jesus set the example.

But he had no compunction while cursing the cities:

"Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

When we are one with god we are no longer under the commandments, this is the commandment of love. When we believe we are the carnal self, we are then under the commandments, its just a metaphor for when we don't see our true self the Christ, we then only see our lower nature, and that's all it is, for me anyway.

Thats the same crap I hear on Buddhist forums, once you are enlightened you no longer have to follow the precepts(commandments). It led to a lot of sex and drug scandals in the Buddhist religion among gurus.

Its seems you believe anything without backing your belief, the society didn't like Osho because he taught people to think for themselves and to question the society, they even poisoned him in American prison which he died of later.
