Well, fear not, Euroskeptic. The United Kingdom isn't a signatory to the Schengen Agreement and is not part of the Schengen area.

I think we can anticipate Norway or Sweden's crowning of one of their cities as Gay Capital of Europe. Or rather of the world, since I don't think America, Asia or Africa are likely to produce a worthy competitor for the title.

I'm very glad I was born in the province that I have, things seem much better here than further down south.

But Britain and Ireland aren't part of the Schengen area, and several countries that are part of the Schengen area aren't members of the EU.

Personally, I hope Britain never becomes part of the Schengen area, since the British allow Americans to remain in Britain without a visa longer than than we are allowed to remain in the Schengen area without a visa.

I know, by that reply I meant that because San Francisco is in America it is not a worthy competitor. A reason which is completely backwards, I know, but the gay capital of the world should be in a country which supports homosexuality - don't you think? As long as the US military maintains their insecurity around gay guys I don't find it fitting for the USA to house the Gay Capital of the World.

San Francisco is, of course, an iconic place for LGBT people. If only America was less backward it would very much be well on its way running for Gay Capital of the World.

I sometimes think it is a pity we're not a race but a quite randomly occurring anomaly. If we were a race we could just claim a piece of land, say a large stretch from Poland to the Mediterranean at Greece (where homosexuality was invented) consuming Austria, Hungary and all those little countries, and make our own rules. Straight people would have to get visas to be allowed to stay, because we wouldn't want our children to get contaminated with their sexual perversion. And we would always win international Song-festivals and figure skating matches.:rainbow1:

But it doesn't really compare to just being accepted in a diverse society like in real countries today.

What the racism patrol can't get through their arrogant heads is that vigilante justice is the next step. Then after that the whole "oh the poor *insert minority here* are being targeted" speech comes out. The worlds seen this before, regrettibly in Australia. The west will only take so much rubbish from minorities no matter who they are or what their religion is, thats a fact. In the end, its the locals that are made to look like tools for standing their ground. This has to change.

It shouldn't. I immigrated from New Zealand when i was a child. Friends of mine immigrated from Indonesia (muslims) and they're no different to any of us, they're great people.

Get a grip. It's the fault of the local police not to be able to enforce local law and impose stricter penalties for hate crimes.

Like I said every country that has a sizable immigration influx has to deal with this problem. I guess the incompetence of the European authorities to deal with it has caused them avoid their own failures and blame their ineptitude on immigrants. What is this the 1900s?
