Depends Upon My Mood..
This is why I cannot help but wonder why there is all the fear mongering being posted all over RF and the internet in general.

I dont know..I guess some people are thinking the worst case scenerios on what information we do have.

Just right off the bat many dont like the idea of the government requiring everyone purchase insurance... period.

Thanks for raising that issue about the penalties, Rick. It's interesting how the politicians are going to handle it.

I bet a few years down the road no one will even remember why the where so scared of the "big bad health care bill." Even further down the road, most people will probably think "how did we manage without."
It seems to be the American trend to live in fear and hatred, and it takes people of sound mind to convince everyone else that everything will be ok. Immigration is a probably the biggest point in case. And then there was segregation. Social Security numbers from what I have been told caused quite a panic. If it's better for the nation, we need to mindlessly fear it until there is no more room for blind speculation, and everyone realizes that it's not that bad. Just look at unions. Used to be only a dirty red commy would even dream of supporting an organization that supports the rights of the workers.

They pass a healthcare plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it; passed by a congress that hasn’t read it but exempts themselves from it. To be signed by a president that also hasn’t read it; and who smokes. And the funding will be administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes; all to be overseen by a surgeon general that is obese; and funded by a country thats broke! Makes good sense to me!:D

Yes I borrowed these lines but they put the truth in perspective!

So it sounds like you would support it, if the government wasn't so corrupt. So it sounds like you should advocate anti-corruption and then socialized medicine.

If it was for the people and not for big business such as pharmaceuticals you bet I would be all for it if I believed that drugs were as goods for health as preventive medicine such as eating healthy and whatnot.Unfortunately we are a lazy society in denial until are bad health wakes us up.

ROTFLMAO

Make up your mind.
Either you know what is in it or you don't.

Seems to me you are trying to walk along both sides of the fence.

Or are you hoping that you merely guessed right?
Theists are good for that......

Truth be told I don't want pharmaceutical companies pushing drugs down everyone's throat even if all health care was free! I don't care what's in the bill.
Drugs have there place but are far to abused and was the killer of both of my parents.
If they are directed at an illness directly such as certain vaccines I can see a purpose but when they are pushed to treat symptoms then they are abused. Symptoms are to alarm your body there is something wrong and are not to be suppressed by drugs.

I see.
So your whole reason for being in this thread is off topic?
You do know that you can start a new thread, right?

I'm sure this will all work out now that the government is handling it. Our government is so incompetent that supplies for Katrina victims sat in warehouses for months because nobody could figure out where they were supposed to go or how.

The only thing our government is good at is blowing things up or ****ing them up. I completely agree that our healthcare system was completely broken. I'm not convinced that big government is the answer. We'll find out the hard way. Prepare to be disappointed.

In other words, "I have no idea what is in this bill, but I'm going to rant about what I've heard from conservatives because I want to be against anything democrats do". All you have to do is take a few minutes to educate yourself on what's in the bill, and you won't make inaccurate comments like this anymore.

Why do you suppose congress exempts themselves from it?

From what? They already have health insurance, just like me. I don't need a government subsidy because I already have health insurance. There's nothing to exempt themselves from. If they couldn't afford insurance, the government would help them through a subsidy.

Again, learn what the bill says before commenting.
