Do I remember reading every word of it? No. Do I remember reading the preamble, some sections of the main document, the amendments? yes.

For example, I had totally forgotten that "Letters of Marque and Reprisal" were in that document.

So how about you answering the same question.

I've read the entire Constitution. And it is not to be taken word for word in the 21st century as applicable. Things do change over time. I would, however not compare it to the Bible since we do not have the slightest idea as to what the original bible said. Or who actually wrote it. We do have the original Constitution and know the author(s). We do not even have a copy of a copy of a copy of the original bible.

However many of the more recent " federal interpretations" (from both sides of the aisle over that last half century) were more for political reasons that corrections based on change and the times

But a recent legal situation, "orders" from those at the top of the political heap (state ) that went blatantly against the 4th amendment, and the response to law enforcement, who refused to enforce it, being called "irresponsible" was the reason for the original post. Certain things in the Constitution should not be taken lightly

You see, if it was not for a broken ankle just before an agility test I'd be a retired police officer today. Or if I listened to some of the law professors I had in college, I'd be a lawyer today. I take laws and the Constitution rather seriously and have studied a lot of of them. And you think I don't care...mostly because I don't agree with your politics...but to each his own....judgements over the web are generally flawed

So that's why you really care about inspecting pickanick baskets. It's not gluttony but your concern about making sure they don't contain illegal substances and contraband. And all this time I thought it was mere gluttony.

My housemate is really bigger lately...it is my fault.
During the last lockdown ...I was so nervous because I could not go out...
So I spent my time baking cakes. Cakes, cakes, cakes all day. Sachertorte...Cassata....
And my housemate ate them all...:p:p:p
