I thought of some responses to these posts, but I'm afraid it'd push the envelope even further.
I occasionally do some hypothesis testing to that end, but you have to be careful how far you run the experiment or how you word it.

We need all humans to register their DNA so the litter cops can identify the perps insolved.
That basically means charging whoever they find there who is the lowest hanging fruit possible. Why? No real reason why. Just there at the crime scene, which can then be presented in such a way that the scientifically illiterate jury is mislead and twisted into believing it must mean the DNA being there means the accused is the perp.
The police motto is "to harass and intimidate," and I wouldn't trust them with that information.
