Most of that is basic sleep hygiene. No computer, phone, or such in bed. In and out of bed the same time. Snacking though, if needed a light snack of something like a few crackers if you need it isn't going to hurt and could prevent waking prematurely from hunger.
Eating crackers would be bad for teeth.

There's a lot of hints about getting to sleep floating around the internet. What I've found helpful is no computer/phone in bed or near to bed, going to bed at the same time every day, a warm shower before bed and no nighttime snacks or exercise. I'd guess you've tried these already?
The usual stuff. I either can't get to sleep or do not get good sleep when I do. It varies. Allergies are tied to it as well. I have some remedies, but they are not always consistent.

You have to look deeper. This site claims it's Vedic.
Oh no, not another multiplication method!! #vedic | Magical Educator
The origins really are unknown.
From your first link.

Line multiplication is sometimes called stick multiplication, and its origins are unclear, with some source claiming it comes from the Japanese,[1] Chinese,[2] or Vedic cultures.[3] It is basically the same process as the standard multiplication algorithm you are taught in school, except it is represented in a more visual way. Using the intersection of lines or sticks to represent where you multiply various place values, this method might be helpful for those learners who are more visually-oriented.
