I'm sandwiched between hot air from inland and a blast of air from Antarctica. 35c yesterday and today they're predicting 15c. It's cold, windy and wet but hopefully it gets me out of driving 90 minutes to some bed and bath shop. That will be a win.
Did you say sandwiches?

This might be called a leg sandwich by a few weirdos but it is in reality a lymph draining wrap that I acquired today. The PT and I had a nice chat mostly about our dogs as she did the deed.

We've had 3 days of rain. It's much needed but causes problems.

The cat who spends all his time outside came inside for breakfast then he went out again before getting dry.

Of the 4 cats who live indoors only one has gone out (and probably found shelter) the other 3 won't go outside and have cabin fever.

It's a funny and winning time watching their antics.

I have opinions that are contrary to the accepted medical practices that nurses often use for edema of the legs. Once blisters form and break infection can become a problem so nurses, here, wrap the legs to prevent infection. There is a tendency for the open wound to weep. If the wrap becomes saturated with drainage I find the chances increase for infection. I've had success using a zinc oxide compound carefully applied to the leg using one finger in rubber gloves or a clean popsicle stick. Once dried, the compound protects the wound from infection and promotes healing..I do not like Balmex for this process.....Of course, nurses here disagree with me..

"once the blisters form" - why once? The rest of your post makes no sense as well since it's predicated on that. And it's not nurses but physical therapists who specialize in treating this that do the wrapping preceded by lymphatic massage. The instructions clearly warn about pain, numbness or tingling etc and say to take the bandages off immediately. They also prescribe "meticulous skin and nail care" to prevent infection. The PT also warned me about cystitis.

Good morning, another wet day, which is good, we need it. Just wish it would head inland more where it is needed even more.
