He lives in Australia. Probably had to dodge 15 encounters with some of the World's most deadly species just picking up coffee in the morning. Boyz II Men wouldn't phase him.

I'm on my way to do a lap of the yard with the camera. There's a fire not far off and I'm hoping it drives some insects this way.

It was worth a shot. From what I have read, they do flee from fire, but it has to be pretty substantial. Probably too substantial for you to focus on photo ops I'm afraid.

It's substantial but about 7klm away, probably way too far for them to be fleeing here. Not sure if the link will work.

It worked well enough. The only problem I had was that zooming in and out was very sensitive. Like I was falling out of the sky.
