@John53 I was thinking about making a thread to discuss natural selection and sexual selection. But having thought about it, I think it would degrade down into more of what the other threads have degraded to almost from the start. I couldn't bear another "fish are still fish" or insults about my beliefs.

Though, I think such a discussion would be useful to those of us really interested in the subject.

I believe you are correct in your assumptions

I got to defend you all to Sam last night.

Sam and I had a long talk. He said "Well, I don't like to hear about forum people." I told him he should, because you all are my friends, and you help keep me in good spirits. I'm happy to hear about his coworkers, he oughta be alright with hearing about forum folks."

Surprisingly, he said he understood.

Can I be the weird Aussie of the group?

It would be an interesting discussion until the trolls came along. I have very little patience at the moment so it's been best for me to avoid the debate threads and stay here with friends.
You can tell I've lost my patience for the nonsense. On the one upside, I've had to recall a lot of old information and look for newer info as well.

I played it safe and made a thread about bees building hives in a house that I found interesting.

Surely, they use an ancient science for that.
