Maybe it's a frog. I don't really know what it did but it was on the show a lot
This guy next to Claudia Black?

He is the pilot. He has a name, but Pilot is what he was called on the show.

I'm not sure what he is. Invertebrate? Crustacean? There are features of the face that don't fit an invertebrate model (the mouth and eyes). But it depicts an alien species, so difficult to know the basal phylogeny and selection the species would be subjected to during its evolution.

According to the series, they are a species that aspires to be pilots. Chosen for the roll by the elders of their culture. Some (many?) did not make the cut.

I'm confused on the relationship, since there are some contradictory issues. The living ships had a deity or deities, but they claim not to be the pilots deity, yet the living ships were designed to have the pilot creatures piloting them.

Edit: The jaw structure appears internal and vertebrate, while the rest of the skeleton appears external and invertebrate. The depiction has a confusing array of physical traits of both invertebrate and vertebrate. A polyphyletic origin expressed in a single species doesn't fit the concept.

12 or 13, I can't remember which
I am sometimes subject to the whims and wants of a 15 year old beagle that doesn't seem to recognize it is that old. And it barks and barks, and barks. I have no idea why. It barks when it is in. You take it out. It barks when it is out. You feed it. It barks. You make sure it has plenty of fresh water. It barks. I'm not sure the limit to how long it can bark. It has tested them extensively under different conditions.

That and writers that all didn't think the same thing as the story progressed or lack an understanding of biology to come up with more rational creature design. Or they came up with new ideas that fit a particular story, but don't exactly fit the past ideas. Then also never knowing how long the show will last to have covered the continuity of details.

I suspend disbelief and enjoy the show.

And most were human shaped. Although Farscape did sort of excel in alien designs
That is always the issue when trying to depict aliens using human actors. The aliens often end up looking like they share a common ancestry.

But I agree with you. Farscape and the association with the Jim Henson Company resulted in rather unique and really alien creatures like Rigel, Pilot and some of other aliens were not on a typically human model.
