The masked truth....

Over here we didn't. It was probably sold out in one day as the toilet paper, hand sanitizer, baby whipes, and other. Now they have masks for sell like they have candies and key chains at the register. I got my set online cause I couldn't find it anywhere else and the stores won't let you in without one. So, basically, if you loose your mask, drop it, or have to wait four days for shipment, you're, well, out of luck.
It was NO different here. People made masks from various. There are even many guides amd how to videos about making one from materials we all have at home (like an old shirt). Now everywhere has them for sale.
Next excuse?

Where is the negativity and sarcasm coming from?????

It's totally situational.

It is just life that not everyone is going to be ahead of the game and there's no use blaming people who fell behind just because the majority "knew" first.

I'm not sure or remember where you're from, but like all fallacies "if it's here, it must be there..." or because "majority says...." or just basing it off of one's own experiences, are not representative of facts. There are X factors.

Why the tone?

...No one is trying to prove you wrong or anything like that.

As Ive said a few times, I had to make my own masks to use before my regular ones arrived in the mail. I was caught off guard because I assumed there would be a better response from everyone from Uncle Sam to the regular citizen (I bought a few TV dinners early on during this here because there was hardly anything left at the store bu that point).
The tone is because excuses are getting people other than those making the excuses killed and severely ill.

Who are you actually talking to?

It's like you're getting frustrated (by your choice of words) with what you "think" I said and do but not what you actually read on screen.

You really do got to think broader than that. X factors refer to people who don't fit in the "common" scenario. You can take it as an excuse as you like (unless I said it was, that's all on you), but the fact remains not everyone is at the same wavelength as everyone else.

It is totally situational. No "Universal scripture" here.

I guess another side comment. Please tell me directly what I said that you have some internal issues with?

Give me a concrete example. If not, it sounds like you're frustrated with your own perceptions and interpretations of what I say, not facts. I thought it was just a religious thing....

A part of the frustrations is things like dismissing me as a foriegner. And now a religious thing?
It is a public health thing. Plain amd simply. Its not me not being an American, its not me being religious, it is about what the facts say.

Oh my gosh, you are reading so much into this that, that no matter what I say now would be taken personally. Way to personal.

Let's take "dismissing you as a foreigner".... where did you get that from?

When did I mention you-specifically?

America has billions of foreigners here or those who were not born and/or raised here in the States. They tend to have different viewpoints on our politics than those native to American "regardless" of where they are from. This would apply the same if I were in someone else's country. I'd be a foreigner just the same and my views would have less impact than would someone who was born and/or raised there regardless where they are from.

So, you gotta pull back a bit.

-

With the science and facts and all I think you're fussing with the wrong "person." I never said I disagreed with facts (not putting words in your mouth). I never said I was doing anything to make people sick....

The only thing I see we have differences is our responses to the COVID thing not being the same reaction. I don't like running around like a chicken with my head cut off like other people-and I'm speaking of other people in general.

This unknown person makes a claim that masks aren't necessary,
that hydroxyetcetera is a 100% "cure", & that other doctors,
epidemiologists, & "big pharma" are in a conspiracy.
It's bad info which is sure to reduce safe behavior in those so
disposed.
As for hydroetcetera, it has some benefit.....
Study finds hydroxychloroquine helped coronavirus patients survive better

How to evaluate her claim of a "cure"?
Let's look at work in places not controlled by the drug companies.
If it were a cure, then other countries like China would know about
it, & wouldn't be working on a vaccine.

What? Me worry?

The video appears to be a facebook link. You sure it was removed from youtube and not that the facebook user altered the sharing permissions or removed the video?

I explained a good reason for removing the video, ie, claims that
masks are worthless, & that hydroxyetcetera is a "cure".
This is dangerous mis-info.

Physicians are much like car mechanics in that they service
a machine, just one biological rather than electromechanical.
Even though more schooling is required, one cannot automatically
treat one as an expert on all things medical.
1) Most don't do research, & aren't expert on emerging
diseases like Covid 19. Without research training, they
can easily misread their experience.
The link to Henry Ford Hospital shows research debunking
the "cure" claim.
2) They're human beings (not gods, as some behave
towards us), & can have non-evidence-based beliefs
that run counter to views of epidemiologists & their peers.
3) They might opine about things outside their field, eg,
radiologists holding forth on epidemiology.

A friend runs an escape room business. Various groups
of professionals will sign up for team building exercises.
He says that mathematicians are the fastest solvers.
Doctors are among the slowest. Epidemiologists are
math oriented in addition to health issue. I'd limit my
"expert" sources to their research...not some unknown
foreigner in a youtube video spouting conspiracies
& bad advice.

No, FB was where I first saw it. The poster told us that the video was removed from YT. I checked it out and, sure enough, it was removed with the standard "...community standards.." nonsense. If you can you need to watch the entire video to get the truth.

Were you able to pull up the entire 45 minute news conference?

A general question. Take intent as will, but ask if you're not sure.

When do you question what you take in from experts and when do you listen to their info as is?

Of course we're not all experts but unlike the news saying a bomb will exploded in five, what criteria do you use to judge what you hear is true?

When does individual skeptism play in as opposed to the fallacies of expert advice and majority rules?

I question expert advice, particularly when it smells "off".
At times, I can use agreed upon info to debunk some expert claims.
Conspiracy theories are the easiest.
In the case of Covid 19, there is one profession with the most
expertise, ie, epidemiologists. I give their consensus the greatest
weight. There are good sources, eg, The Mayo Clinic.
Mrs Revolt & I have personal experience with Johns Hopkins.
(She got her masters in public health there.)
News & Information

On the internet, everything can be "true", eg, faked Moon landings,
the Military Industrial Complex conspiracy, alien invasions.
Sometimes, these proffered "experts" have credibility issues, eg,
Medical Directors to Stella Immanuel: Your COVID-19 claim unscientific

Mock Turtle

Oh my, did I say that!

This in UK papers - not sure the Daily Beast is a reliable source though:

'Spectacular': Trump praises doctor who dismissed face masks after viral video

Immanuel is a registered doctor in Texas, according to the Texas Medical Board, and runs a clinic in a strip mall next to her church, Firepower Ministries, the Daily Beast reported. “She has often claimed that gynecological problems like cysts and endometriosis are in fact caused by people having sex in their dreams with demons and witches. She alleges alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, and that scientists are cooking up a vaccine to prevent people from being religious,” the Daily Beast added.

Edit: I see there is a thread on this.
