Today was pretty good. I'm getting transferred out of home based (which is working with kids) and exclusively to adult case management. Which is where I wanted to be to begin with. And plus I can say I got some experience working with kids when the time comes to go to another company. And the whole time with the four-year-old today I was thinking "Yay! I don't have to deal with you anymore!" as well as "good ****ing luck to whoever gets you" because it was another "kick the baby" session of frustration.
Transplanted hostas into 13 containers, transplanted a
catalpa tree (16" high), pulled some garlic mustard, moved
a path over a bit, & I'm now enjoying the plumbers' work.

Today I learned I work with a bunch of snitches. I wasn't the one in trouble, but the former employee who was "misbehaving," and her "misdeeds" were the talk of the office today.
And how did she get caught? The dumb dummy posted pictures of her doing things she's not supposed to be on Facebook.
I don't agree with it being the major legal and ethical violation, what she did, but the ball is about to be in her court, and we shall see if there will be a need for stitches.

But, I don't care, because I'm about to be done working with kids, and I can tell everybody that now I have proof I'm not that good with kids. "Oh, but you'd be so good with kids," people told me.
Next, with this one being mainly aimed towards my brother, if he wants to keep going on about how "one day I'll want kids." He's one who thought for sure I'd be great with kids, but I told him I wouldn't be. And now he shall get, once he's out of jail, a chance to reevaluate if he thinks I'll ever want kids.

We're taught to not make assumptions about people and their situations in the mental health field. Sunstone's dead pet thread being a good example why (the p-tizer assuming Phil had a dog when he really had an ant, for those who haven't read it yet). So what does pretty much everyone do when I tell them I'm seeing my PCP in two weeks regarding my knee? Assume I'm putting off getting my knee looked at. And then I get to make them feel like asses when I explain to them she's one of the few good doctors who takes time to talk with her patients, my appointment was actually scheduled a few months as a routine checkup appointment and it takes a few months to get in to see her, and you want to get in as early as you can or else you'll be waiting because she gets behind because she's spending time with her patients. And then I get to salt the wound by telling them I did go to an orthopedic specialist Monday, and he said he won't do anything for me.
Stubbornness can be fun. Our last dog, a golden retriever naturally, had the habit of picking up large rocks and refusing to let go. We had mammoth struggles about who was going to win with me prying her jaws open and her keeping her mouth clamped shut. I never lost although I'd admit that it could take a while before she relented.
Once I got started on a small project and my wife told me I was in over my head and to call a handyman or some such. After that, heaven and earth could pass away but I was not going to stop until I succeeded no matter how long it took or how painful the work became.
I've always thought of stubbornness as a very positive trait though, of course, it can be taken too far on rare occasions.

I'm only seeing two clients today, and I wish the next hour would hurry up so I can get ready and go to my first one, get it over with (and I suspect this one shall be a wee complicated), go see my second for the day, and be done with the people side to do all the "administrative stuff."

I wonder if the detractors of the Simpsons have ever stopped to think how much effort that family has put into remaining a family, and at the end of the day they remain a family, with each member having been put into the position of having to chose between their family and a much more functional family. Really, that's "family values" at its best. But don't tell Bush Sr. that. No, wait, do tell him that.
