I'm quite familiar with that turbine program. It was a fascinating
example of incredibly poor management. Ford spent about $1B
to put it into production before problems like bearing life were
solved. But the fundamental problem was that this truck engine
wasn't actually suited for trucks like Big Red....or any truck.
Why, you ask?
This regenerative turbine was indeed fuel efficient, but only at
full power. The problem is that trucks run at a range of loads,
usually far below full power. So it could never compete with
a diesel piston engine for fuel economy. They did find a market
in generators & yachts. But service issues & small market size
killed the project.

sounds like you just dislike market economies.
I despise them making money because we have to use their stuff. I hate that credit scores are lowered when you don't have debt. I pay my bills. The fact I don't take on debt more than I need to should be reflected in my score. But it's not. There's nothing voluntary about it. Make the banks rich or go without basics.

It's a good system, ie, evaluating a customer's credit to determine
the risk they pose to the creditor. You don't believe that lack of a
credit history is relevant. I understand that. But creditors disagree.
Face it....with no credit history, you're a greater risk than someone
with a good credit history. And why does it matter? Because you
want credit. It's time to establish some if you want businesses to
extend it to yoiu.
It would show me as a risk because I don't like taking on debt. I don't like more bills than I have to have. I don't like owing if I don't have to. But my score doesn't reflect this. I watched it take a huge dive because I don't use it. I'm not a risk, but this bs system says I am. It says I'm wreckless, because it doesn't reflect my responsibility of not needlessly going into debt and owing people money.

Having seen how that program unfolded,
"cool" is not how I saw that tragedy.
Big diesel engines are cool.
You can help....
Coolspring Power Museum

Had a discussion with a person who was telling me how EVs were going to do everything.... my response... until an EV can haul freight, and power heavy equipment....you will always have a diesel
