Looks like a heavy snowstorm is heading eastward.
Three people died in two separate crashes on a snowy stretch of Interstate 80 in central Nebraska Friday, according to state police. One of the wrecks happened near North Platte, while the other was about 30 miles to the east near Gothenburg. In all, Nebraska State Police were investigating more than a dozen crashes.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol responded to 125 crashes in a 48-hour period that ended Saturday evening, and in Colorado 11 cars piled up in a wreck near Castle Rock, about 25 miles south of Denver.
The system was named Winter Storm Cait by The Weather Channel.
While there were no major airport delays because of the weather, some roads were shut down due to crashes and heavy traffic backed up on others.
Conditions were expected to ease Saturday night into Sunday.
It may ease up by the time it reaches the Great Lakes region. Still, I guess it means that Old Man Winter has arrived.
