Are we superior because we can enjoy British humor as well as our own?

Weird is more the thing, in my view American humour is, to a large degree, an oxymoron. Although there are one or two American comedians i appreciate.

I do agree that the Brits are weird as their humor illustrates. After all, no American sitcom would start with someone taking off all his clothes and running into the ocean, swimming out to sea
