Living in Indiana I only thought I knew a long drive. Now in California I know long drives.
And having only been through the Northern part of Texas that goes thriugh Amarillo, I can see Texas would have some long drives just to still be in Texas.
Traveling from Revoltistan to Houghton (for pasties)
da UP is well over 500 mi.

I once sat next to a Texan on a plane. He told me
that on his big big ranch, it takes half a day just
to drive down his driveway. I told him that I too
once had a car like that.

I am going to be driving about 12 hours straight tnrough from Texas to Ohio in a few weeks. Ugh. But I know the feeling for sure. It's not like I want to stop two hours or something like that from my destination!

I had an uncle who lived in Cleveland. I was never a big fan of that city. I remember going through Cleveland with directions provided by our uncle, as the best way to get through the city. But we got all messed up by this train. It was 3 or 4 in the morning and we're driving through deserted streets in seedy neighborhoods, but can't get south because every street is blocked by this ridiculous, slow-moving train, which was loudly honking in the middle of residential neighborhoods going 5 mph. I wondered how anyone can sleep through that.

I know there's a Cleveland in Texas, too, but I've never been there.

I will never forget seeing a sign that said "Dallas - 830 miles." I mean, that's like two days of travel time! OK, one long, long day. Road trip, I mean. Where you start out looking cute but don't stay that way.
Yeah. My total trip from Indiana to here was 2200 miles. That really puts 830 in perspective that, damn, thats a long ways to go and a short time to gwt there.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

Oh I am moving to the Cincinnati area. Nowhere near Cleveland, thankfully. Cleveland is in NE Ohio and Cincinnati is in SW Ohio. For some perspective, Cleveland gets about 40 inches average of snow per year and Cincinnati gets about 20 inches of snow per year, which is still a lot more than I am used to but a lot less than Cleveland.

There is so much pollen in the air here that it's like walking through dust. Seriously.

We've had mixed rain/snow/hail for three days. Not a lot of pollen, though.
Oh my gosh, we've got pollen. Suddenly too.

I am allergic to cedar. So yeah, I'm pretty miserable right now. (I'm also allergic to mesquite, juniper, gin, etc. and I think they are all related, which explains why I can't drink gin! No worries, I hate it anyway.)

This time of year I either get sun in my eyes or close the curtains in my room rendering it dark.

I'll take yours, if you don't want it...(gin, not pollen)
