I’ve been being to easy on myself thinking I’m old
I was on BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) yesterday. There are seats reserved for the infirm and elderly. I did not sit in them because I don't think of myself as elderly in spite of being 79 (a very weird number. 80 will be way weirder next year9. I recommend thinking of yourself as not old but as someone who happens to have various things that are not the same as when you were 20.

I seem to go backwards. I am much stronger now than I was at 30(I turn 40 in a few weeks). By 50, I should be a tank.

Bed at 1am, up at 4:30. Back to sleep at 6, up at 9. I guess that's 6.5 hours.

There are a veritable plethora (to use a favorite expression) of internet sites about why someone wakes up in the middle of the night and what to do about it.

But you are, of curse (like that?), unique in that regard.

Its true. Most don't have to placate War Lords in the middle of the night.

I am so 'on duty', even when asleep, that when a friend stayed over, I scared her because she woke up to go to the bathroom, and I appeared within seconds. "Sorry, just my training." She understood(she lived her for awhile, so she gets it better than most.)

Some day you'll be able to work on that reaction (and others)

I really like TJ's Gingermints. They are VERY gingery and I really like ginger heat but not pepper heat.
