You meant "hurdles" rather than "loopholes".I asked on Avvo if I need to go through all the legal loopholes of starting a business. It's been answered twice; One attorney saying I may potentially face fines and fees if I don't, and another saying I don't have to through the formalities. It's not very assuring to have two lawyers give two such largely differing answers.
Yeah, I went to a mentor. He wasn't helpful in anyway. There is one other similar group that I know of that I'll probably contact. You meant "hurdles" rather than "loopholes".
Don't talk to lawyers.
Talk to people who run a business.
Once you're up & running, then you'll find lawyers useful.
I don't know what your mentor is like.Yeah, I went to a mentor. He wasn't helpful in anyway. There is one other similar group that I know of that I'll probably contact.
I see them as having to jump through loopholes when I all I want to do is start fixing and building stuff and making money.
Well, I got a third reply saying no. I guess I'll sell a few of these boxes I'm making, not to afford an attorney, but to talk to a CPA about the tax situation. Or, had Radioshack not went under (which still angers me), I could just pay cash for everything that I'm having to buy online, sell face to face, and not have to worry about it. Damn these non-nerds and their not supporting nerd businesses!I don't know what your mentor is like.
I advise talking to others in business.
You need a circle of friends & associates with whom to shoot the s***.
Jump in & start work, & deal with the problems as they arise.
Common issues.
You'll under-estimate the work.
You'll over-estimate the income.
All of us who start businesses do so with insufficient knowledge.
