I held out as long as I could. The last several weeks have seen Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease, URTIs, and now Pneumonia in my household. All without hitting me somehow. As of this morning, it's official, I'm sick and miserable. So far, I can say it appears to be just a head cold and hoping it progresses no further since mommies aren't allowed to get sick. I was trying though, you should see my vitamins

Weird. I just got a head cold too. I never get them, but since they carved a hollow spot in my skull I seem to get one every couple of months.

Today I had a wisdom tooth pulled, but what made the day awesome, despite what has been a considerable amount of pain once the anesthesia wore off and then doses of advil, was I acquired a vinyl edition of Nine Inch Nail's Pretty Hate Machine. Now I just need some speakers that aren't about a decade old and don't have holes in them from where the damn cat chewed them.

Sometimes when I walk I take bamboo ski poles with me. I tap them for a rhythm. When I get to the end of the path where I turn around there is a dead tree. I hit it with my pole. Last time I hit it too hard too often and split the pole down the middle. It didn't break but I better not lean on it or it will bend. Now when I tap it on the road it has resonance.

I had an allergic reaction to something this morning. I puffed up all over, got hives and had to go to the hospital. I am fine now. My lungs still ache a little.

I could eat a quarter pounder, 2 slices of pizza, a large fries, sundae and a coco water right now. Don't care if I gain weight , I just wanna eat!!!!!! Depressed much?

I realized there was sunlight and tried to see the sun rise this morning, but missed it then saw a crap ton of mist on the hill about 500 feet from my house just collect and be creepy like it does every morning.

The antidepressant that I'm taking right now kinda make me feel like I'm "floating". And drowsy too. Better for me to add up some glucose on my diet to stimulate the natural "happy hormones" of the body, minus the side effects.

I know that feeling. It takes a lot to be a mom and have your attention on the well-being of another person 24/7, especially when they are that age and really starting to be mobile. We would all like to always be on the top of our game -- especially regarding our children -- always knowing what to do, and with the perfect response, but none of us are. Please don't be hard on yourself.
