Which highlights the lack class, decorum, and professionalism. Nothing wrong with sexual content, but there's a proper time and place

Imagine if nuns dressed like this during mass. How well would that go over?
Italy has always been a pagan country.
It was founded by Romans who were pagan and incredibly lascivious.

Her portrayal of Italy makes it seem like the entire
country is like those trucker titty bars along highways
here. You know....with names like "The Velvet Touch".
But with better food, & fewer trucks.

That didn't answer the question regarding nun attire. Also, one can be lascivious and still practice restraint when the situation calls for it, such as a professional or solemn setting.

Nope. Nuns in sexy, scantly clad attire during church services. Would be well received by Italian public, yes or no?
There is a strong separation of Church and State so believers act differently outside of the church, especially if it deals with sexual morals.
That's all I can say.
So, no. they wouldn't.

What does the state have to do with sexy nuns/sexy Mary? If news reporters are expected to be sexual objects, why not them as well?

There you stuff slices of pizza instead of dollar bills into their garters.
I have met American guys. I told you that not that far from university there was this US military base, and they used to frequent the same discos and pubs as me.
I can only say that Americans are more "gentlemen" and "kind" to women than the Italian counterparts. To use euphemisms.

Why not say precisely what you mean?

That was Sicily in 1945 or something.
That's an enormous generation gap.
Nowadays in Sicily women can even to have two boyfriends simultaneously. They are more economically independent.
The generational shift is incredible.

It's been somewhat the same in America, although it seems that both cultures have been strongly influenced by the social and sexual mores influenced by the church. America is different also in terms of size, as our geography allowed some areas to remain somewhat more provincial and rooted in more traditional social mores. I became aware of this while traveling around the country and seeing different branches of my family in different areas. Some of those in the Bible Belt states seemed to take a dim view of states like New York or California, which they thought were more liberal and permissive than what they would accept.

It's still like that to some degree.

Exactly. Here violence is not considered viewable by underage people. But Italian national TV is really...you know....dirty.

Well, Americans can certainly have access to whatever dirty TV they want nowadays. It may not be on the broadcast networks, but there are plenty of cable and streaming channels available. There's 24/7 access to as much lewd and lascivious entertainment as they can handle. So, we're not really deprived of it - at least for those who want it.

I don't mind it so much, as I just see it as actors on a stage, playing roles. Some do it very well, and others, not so much.

LOL
It's cultural. It's paradoxes. Here children manage to drink some beer and wine...even if they are prepubescents.
But there's no second amendment, so it's impossible to buy a gun anywhere...unless you have a license, which is very, very difficult to get.

So the paradox to me is that some teenagers cannot drink but have access to guns, somehow in some states of America. LOL
:)

Yeah, that's America. Although America was somewhat less restrictive about drinking when I was growing up and didn't start to really crack down until there was a big push against drunk driving and teen drinking.

Former First Lady Hillary Clinton had words of encouragement for “Barbie” star Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig after the pair were snubbed during the 2024 Oscar nominations.

“Greta & Margot,” Clinton, 76, wrote on Instagram on Wednesday. “While it can sting to win the box office but not take home the gold, your millions of fans love you.”

“President Hilary Barbie, please know we feel the same way,” one fan wrote on Instagram.

“Said from the woman who knows,” a second person stated.

“Honestly, this is almost better than winning an Oscar,” declared a third user.

Other users were not thrilled with the former presidential candidate’s statement.

President Hilary Barbie?

“And you belong in jail, Barbie,” political commentator Tomi Lahren wrote.

“Stop the war in Gaza instead of playing with Barbie!! Are you for real,” slammed a second person.

“She doesn’t care about pregnant women crushed to death in Gaza but is hurt about elite Hollywood nonsense,” a third person jeered.

The actor who played Ken was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
