The Theory of Evolution is supported by the evidence.

my apologies.
I fail to see how this applies to anything in this thread.
I mean, you certainly refuse to actually learn anything.
and your ignorance of evolution is embarrassing at best and down right disgraceful at worst.

I understand your statement, Auto, and I think it has merit when applied to fundamentalists at large. Often, however, I think many of these guys see such overwhelming evidence and they simply decide to mentally "dig in their heels". Much like a kid on a playground that resorts to "oh yeah - well my dad can beat up your dad" defenses, these people are simply incapable of facing the hopelessness of their position.

The way I look at it, people like this really should be pitied, because they are not mature enough, or mentally strong enough, to face reality.

Thanks for the pity but no thanks

I notice that you tend to say stuff for no other reason than to get others to "revile you, and persecute you" just so you can get your warm fuzzies.
Like I said, if your god is fooled by such cheap theatrics, he is no god I want any thing to do with.

My position gets me reviled and persecuted. I just don't need your applause to feed my ego.

Your position is one of willful ignorance and proud dishonesty.

Any god that honors willful ignorance and proud dishonesty is not worth a damn.

Like hell they do... you may get disagreed with and occasionally mocked... but hardly reviled and persecuted. The fact that you feel justified and comfortable saying such a thing just proves how coddled you are... you should be ashamed of yourself. There are Christians actually being killed and tortured for their faith and you feel that having a few atheists pick on you on an internet forum is persecution!

How utterly pathetic!

I just don't need your applause to feed my ego.
No you have plenty of ego on your own!

I can see an element of truth in "theistic evolution". I cannot accept one common ancestor for all kinds and species.

And THERE is your contradiction.

IF you actually believe in this god of yours and IF it can and has done what you claim it would make no difference to you WHAT science learns about the natural world. Your faith would be undisturbed no matter what empirical evidence was presented. Simply because you believe your god is an omni-max being and can do ANYTHING.

The brutal fact is you DON'T have faith in your mythology. You NEED science to support it.

Be patient. The real scientists wont let us use any of the expensive equipment.

Are you joking? Perhaps you're not aware that it's been definitively shows that it is impossible to tell when a creationist is joking, as many of their serious assertions are too ridiculous to distinguish from humor.

Because you've thoroughly reviewed all the evidence and determined that it does not support the conclusion, or for some other reason? Are you interested in hearing about the evidence. Cuz that is what this thread is for.

Once again, you're mistaken. It's not your position, it's your behavior--dishonest, evasive and willfully ignorant. And who do you think is persecuting you, and in what way? Or do you consider disagreement to be persecution?

I think Danmac is speaking metaphorically.

What Danmac is saying is, a single creationist can only express willful ignorance, but a great number of them praying in unison can actually alter reality by repeatedly denying it.

If this is meant to be a metaphorical evocation of Christianity's power as a whole, it fails to take into account one thing. Snowflakes are formed from hydrogen dioxide. Hydrogen dioxide exists. Christianity is formed from superstition and scientific retardation, which lead onto belief in a Creator God. The Creator God doesn't exist.

depends on how one defines 'creation'... but that is neither here nor there... nor is it relevant to this thread.

And a stitch in time saves nine.

well at least you didn't misinterpret me as did a couple of others. Now I understand some of the far out biblical interpretations you unbelievers come up with. It's very entertaining actually.
