The wedding of jesus

Good point Charity. This Mary was not the sister of Martha and Lazarus.

It's very easy to say what is not. One should think well before denying an axiom if he or she does not have the contrary premise to substitute the option. To uncover a body off its rags if one does not have the proper replacement is to operate in the vacuum. Not too wise.

One only will stand up with two names. The first that got stuck to Mary before she fell in love with Jesus, and the second that she never recovered but preserved the love of Jesus till death. Now, decipher the riddle. In the meantime the sphinx will rest.

Oberon,

Could a women have a change in name. Would it be possible that mary of behtany was later called mary of magdala? Or the other way around.

If jewish women could have a change in name, what would be the circumstances?

Noami which meant 'pleasantness' changed her name to Mara which meant 'bitterness'.

Heneni,

If you and oberon allow me, I could answer your question.
The two names of this one woman was not due to a name changing. Mary of Bethany
who had her busines in Magadala, became known as Mary Magdalene. When she met
Jesus and eventually fell in love with him, she decided to quit on her business and return home to Bethany, obviously when perspectives of a marriage with Jesus were
feasible. Due to the character of her business, and for being, let's say, a famous woman, the epitet Magdalene stuck to her name for life. Even the Gospel writers about 50 to 60 years after the fact would have of this Mary that she was Magdalene,
Jesus' beloved disciple.

These things usually happen. Think of Jesus being of Nazareth. Jesus the Nazarene,
when he was not born in Nazareth and lived perhaps only one third of his life in there. But the name stuck to Jesus perhaps because of his father who had his business in Nazareth all his life. I hope I was of some help.

What was mary of magdala's business?

I was 101 percent sure that you would ask that question. That's why I lingered around for a while. I know what you are thinking, and the only thing I can say
is that you are correct. Now, for food to your thought, think of the following:
Mary was a well-to-do woman to even suppot finantially Jesus' group of the Twelve.
We all know that it was not from parental inheritance because she would also support her sister Martha and brother Lazarus. Martha would pay her way as a maiden-servant to Mary. Lazarus was always a sick man.

The text says that Jesus exorcized seven demons out of Mary, most probably
related to her business. God knows how long it took to Jesus to complete his
work of exorcism. At the end Mary was free of her demons but taken over by
Jesus, which was by the way her salvation to a new life. Albeit a life crowded
with sufferings, but a new life which gave her a new sense to her life. That's
why she would call him "Rabboni" which means Master of my sufferings. But sufferings as a result of genuine love. Not only spiritual but also romantic love.

Considering that when the light came to me about Mary's life she was already married to Jesus, I am going to forbid myself to go any further since Jesus himself would prefer to leave it alone. If you love Jesus, you will do the same.

So you wont come out and say what it is what she did, is that because you are ashamed of jesus marrying a women of great reputation, or because your not quite sure?

If you care about what jesus thought, and you feel that this should rather be left alone, why did you start the thread ben?

I'll tell you why I started this thread, even sure that you won't like it. Two reasons:
The first was the attempt, by the way of a Jewish friend of mine, to discredit Jesus
for not having fulfilled the Law to the letter according to Matthew 5:17-19 by living to over 30 years without getting married and fathering children.

The second reason was the suspiction of homosexuality for hanging around most his life with twelve men without any history of contacts with the opposite sex. By the way, from the same Jewish friend.

Now, as a result of my research and the help of some of you guys, I have collected some evidences to sustain that Jesus did fulfill those commandments and there is no need to suspect of anything else about him.

Will your friend be happy with the fact that jesus married a prostitute?
:sarcastic Or are you going to try and hide that small detail, which you are not entirely sure about.

Let it be the way you want. I have already given you enough hints that it's enough for you to digest. Perhaps I would talk more openly if we were face to face. But I won't put down on the "paper" with my name to it, a testimony that my fellow Jew
Jesus himself would have asked me not to. Good day, Sir!

Depends Upon My Mood..
Another thing since you didnt ask I'll divulge..Even though I've already shared more than I planned when I saw the light...

Pay close attention...

"When I was single" (single get it?)

"Dressed up so fine" ...(see?)

"Now I am married" (aha!)

"Go ragged all the time"..(time ???whats time)

"LORD I wish I was a single girl again" (it clearly says "Lord with a capital "L")

Now...this is hard for you to see..because you probably dont want too...

Take this and "reverse " it...I KNOW its an enigma..Kind of hard to swallow..BUT its CLEARLY Jesus...and when he was single he was in fact "ragged" and after He got married he was "dressed up so fine"..Its right there in front of you..PROOF..

I know...I know..its says "single GIRL" again..Right??? I was expecting you to catch that..Now think about it?? Girl..boy..girl ..boy...girl ...boy...girl..boy???..That is obviously romantic?NOT only that...But Jesus was accused of being a transexual..SO...therefore he said "single girl"..

So we definately know this is Jesus..and we REVERSE what it says from "single dressed fine..then married and ragged"..."to single dressed ragged" to ..."married dressed really fine"

Need I say more?

Love
