It's about culture. For heaven's sake this forum has existed for over twenty years and reading through so many experiences religion is not about God. It's about culture and I'm too God damned tired of explaining this over and over again. There is a world of information available to you.

I must admit that is the first time I have heard that one :)

Welcoe back. Hope you had a great rest. Did you work out what bearing false witness means yet :)
Last chance, Try to act like an adult or back to timeout you go.

By the way, you did not pay attention again. All of your sources supported my claim. You appear to have some very serious reading comprehension issues.

I know imaginary gods exist ─ there are billions of them. However, I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what a real god is, such that if we encounter a real suspect we can tell whether it's God or not.

Hi blu, nice to see you again. Hope you are well. Depends on who you talk to I guess. You will know God when you meet him. He is all around you and knows you and everything you do and loves you. Just the fact your hear only shows he is calling you. Some will choose not to hear his calling though and will never know him. Some seek for him and find him. Some demand miricles before they will beleive in God, but no miricles will ever ben given these people. We will all meet our maker soon enough however in God's appointed way. We can only know God is his appointed way not ours. :)

So, not knowing what a real God is, I'm unable to say whether real Gods exist or not.

Maybe your trying to find him in the wrong places and the wrong way? If your opened to finding God why not try looking for him through his appointed way? I would point you to prayer and the study of the biblical scriptures. Others may point you somewhere else but if you started with a personal prayer to God I believe he will guide you if you have an opened mind to believe.

I won't know the answer to that until someone provides me that meaningful definition of a real god. Again, not knowing what a real god is, I have no idea.

I know what I believe and have peace in the fact for some things I live by faith. Others seemed threatened and even horrified to think that if they do not believe in God that they live by the same faith as I do by not believing there is a God or that God exists. Yet they have no peace in their belief yet they do not know why. I believe this lack of peace is a warning sign to those who do not believe that maybe there is more to life that has not been found, more to existence and a higher purpose and calling. God is all around us yet many cannot see him because they choose not to.

As I said, there are billions of imaginary gods. It's possible ─ I'm emboldened by the absence of that definition to say that it seems extremely likely ─ that there are no real gods. But until we have that meaningful definition of a real god, we can't tell, because we don't even know what we're looking for.

There are many definitions of God my friend. Choose one that suits you and ask him that he may help you to know him if he is real with an opened heart and mind. What does it hurt to pray and ask? You may be surprised if he in some way answers your prayers and if not then you have lost no time.

I respect your right to believe as you think / feel best. But if there's a real God, one thing we can say about her/ him/it/them/other is that she/he/it/.they/other neither says nor does. We never get it from the horse's mouth, only from our fellow humans; and meanwhile we know that innocent people get murdered, disfigured, made paraplegic, have their children die / suffer vile diseases, and much more, regardless of whether their lives have been moral or harmful, sane or insane, &c, while a supposedly benevolent and omnipotent god sits on her/his/its/their/others' hands and watches it all unroll. Not without that sufficient definition of a real god, no, I can't. I have nowhere to begin.

Well thankyou blu, sometimes God's appointed ways for knowing him are not our ways. God only reveals himself to those who seek him with all their heart in his appointed ways not ours. The fact you are asking these questions to me only means God is guiding you even if you cannot see him.

Thanks for sharing blu, it is always nice to talk to you :)

I see, so what does bearing false witness mean in your view? If you do not know I am happy to help you just let me know :)

Sometimes hallucinations are religious experiences.
Only if your misunderstanding things. Therefore a straw man fallacy.
Hallucinations have to be treated with medicine or a hard slap. Sometimes that too brings the person back to his/her senses. It will be foolish to build your world around hallucinations.
Those who believe there is no god have a belief, yes.
Those who lack a belief of god do not have a belief in god.
The two beliefs are different. One has a rational reason behind it, the other has superstition behind it.

Agreed, but this is worth consideration also for example if somone does not have a belief in something does that mean that something does not exist? Of course not. :)
Who, other than you, has made the claim that lack of evidence proves lack of what is lacking evidence?

You do know I posted multiple translations of the 9th in the previous post right? Sounds like you are tired perhaps you need some rest. We can talk latter if you like when you are in a better mood. Nice talking to you. :)
Yes, you did post numerous translations.
What you did not do is explain what it means to bear false witness.
Which is what you were flat out asked to do.

Perhaps you could try again, only this time actually explaining it?

I told you several times already. You clearly do not listen to others. That is probably why you cannot learn from your mistakes.

Bearing false witness against your neighbor is making false claims about them. It is not necessarily lying about them, though a lie probably would be a false claim. What you seem to have a hard time understanding is that even if one believes what one said is true if what one said is incorrect that is bearing false witness.

Let's say there was a party that we both were invited to,but I was the only one that went. For some odd reason I remember seeing you there. When asked about it I tell others that you were there. In reality you weren't. Now I did not lie about seeing you there, I really believed that you were there, but since you were not I would have been bearing false witness if I said that you were.

You made false claims about others. They were very incorrect. That means you bore false witness about your neighbors.

I tried to explain to him how a lack of evidence can be evidence of nonexistence. But I doubt if he understood the concept.

Please note "can be", not "always is".

I think he may finally have realized his error. The question is, will he own up to it?

Hi all some questions for consideration for this OP....

1. If one does not believe that there is a God and they have no evidence that there is no God does that mean that God does not exist?

2. If one believes there is no God and cannot prove there is no God then is this belief simply another religion that is based on faith and not evidence?

3. Now for those who do not believe in God and you have no evidence for this belief (faith), does it not worry you that you could be wrong if the scriptures are true?

4. Finally if there is a God obviously not all religions can be correct as many are contradictory to each other. How would one go about finding what is the correct faith? Seems we all live by faith IMO wheather we believe or do not believe in God.

I believe God's judgments are coming to this world to all those who do not believe and follow God's Word according to the scriptures. Can you prove they are not

Thanks for your thoughts...
I dont believe pink unicorns exist but I cant prove it . That doesnt bother me any more than not believing god exists

Indeed as I wanted to give the person making the claims about what it means to lie to tell me what bearing false witness means. I told him I would be happy to let him know if he did not :)
