I know what you mean, but most politician are run by the lobbyists who are payed by those businessmen, like Trump. Getting Trump in the office only means that the "man" running politics behind the veil now are going to be front and center.

From what I gather people voting for him fall into one of two categories (sometimes both):
An emotional protest vote. These people are so angry and scared that they see him as someone who is going against the grain and they think that's the answer. (these people say Obama's name A LOT)
The other, the ignorant vote. People who are voting for him simply because they are entertained by him.

But that is exactly what he had done. He has done a press conference standing in front of a bunch of steaks pretending they were "Trump steaks". They were not. Standing in front of bottle of water pretending that they came from his water company, they didn't. This was a obviously dishonest attempt to hide his business failures.
This shows more than just his business failures, which I don't care so much about, it shows his character. It shows Trumps dishonesty. It shows his defensiveness. It shows his megalomania. It shows that he can't admit to failure and will lie to hide it.
