They do, but, nevertheless, they harp on about how it's a Christian Nation and Christian majority, but when it comes time to reflect on the values, suddenly their only Christian in name only, their only a Christian on Sunday, or more bluntly they aren't a real Christian. They only cling to the "Christian Nation" when it is convenient for them, and they ditch it as soon as it starts to work against them.
That is something to hope for.I suspect most of the country will go back to "business as usual" and just keep living day to day, paying their bills, mowing the lawn, and helping the kids with homework.
Telling religion they don't have the right to define marriage or a right to decide who they will serve in public is not forgetting "freedom of religion." Rather, it's a reminder of past court cases that have already ruled such.
I've been living being sensitive to others, and trying to understand them, even when they do not extend the same courtesy to me. I decided I'm not doing that anymore. If someone doesn't want to even consider that I am a human who is fully entitled to equal protection of the law, I will no longer be sensitive to their "religious freedom" that has already been ruled illegal when it comes to other minority-status labels. If they don't want to consider my needs, and dismiss them as a "perversion," I have no problems dropping how far ethics have advanced in 3,000 years, that the Bible is filled with scientific flaws, their positions have already been ruled unConstitutional and illegal, and that their ways are dying out (the fact non-theism is spreading and becoming more common--globally--is the cherry on top of a well iced cake). They don't want to consider my needs, I have no problems telling them their religion has no right to define my life.
Such underestimations will probably be the crack to exploit in 2018 and 2020. It's blind foolishness to pretend this election was the public as a whole voting generally the same way. It didn't happen like that. So, go ahead, over estimate the strength of your position. It often makes the fall harder.
You're right, lets work on changing that.
What exactly is going on today?Things have greatly changed over the last 60 years, and it doesn't excuse what is going on today.
And we're just getting started talking about him. But already the Trump supporters keep changing the subject from Trump to Clinton and Obama.
It's like they're embarrassed to be associated with their candidate, Putin's boy Trump.
Why is that?
Tom
The Electoral College voted today, and after Texas just voted, Trump went over the 270 vote mark needed to make it official. He is expected to win a total of 306 electoral votes. Congratulations to the 45th President of the United States of America!
You are the company you keep. It's like the Libertarians, sure, they claim they're all about more personal and civil freedoms, but rarely do we see them lifting a finger to stop the Religious Right. Failure to act against makes one just as guilty as those who did the act.Do people of religion, or only one religion get married? This is obviously nonsense. Most of the Republican party is fine with gay marriage (as in they just don't care, at all...), there is only a small percentage which represent the far right Christians that have the beef. You're happy to blanket everyone with it, however, even though the evidence says otherwise.
I am talking about it on so many levels. Such as, the total lack of respect one gets in a such a deeply Conservative area such as rural Indiana just for not believing in the Christian god, accepting evolution, or even questioning the "hero status by default" for troops. No, in general, I've had it with trying to not brake the eggshells of Conservatives, and I've began to stomp them.If defining your life you mean they think transgender is just a full time cross-dresser,
It was created to keep the slave owning South from getting too much of an advantage just because they had a larger population due to slaves. That is also the reason the 3/5 Compromise, another relic from a world long dead and gone, is in the Constitution.System working as intended, the electors were designed to keep populous counties from railroading everyone else.
That's certainly very telling, as Putin has no regards for freedom of religion, speech, association, and he takes based on long-expired Cold War bull****.Putin is an awesome and exceptionally ambitious human being
Much of humanity claims their bad ones as unfortunates. They don't declare "we are the majority and should run the show" to suddenly changing their words to "well, we're actually only a minority."That isn't unique to Christianity, that is just humanity.
You suggest our claim of favoring personal liberty is disingenuous? It's like the Libertarians, sure, they claim they're all about more personal and civil freedoms, but rarely do we see them lifting a finger to stop the Religious Right.
"Very telling", how exactly? What significant insights can you really assume to have gathered from a simple compliment I posted about Vladimir Putin? That's certainly very telling, as Putin has no regards for freedom of religion, speech, association, and he takes based on long-expired Cold War bull****.
Discussing President-elect Trump I assume. We'll see how long that last.I take it that's a "No, I will keep deflecting to the losers and refuse to discuss the President ".

What swap people are you referring to? Please be specific by name. What I don't get is why he's hiring all the top swamp people? Didn't he say he wasn't going to do that?
Sure, head of Exxon, Reince Priebus, Golfman Sachs, etc. All republican establishment top players. What swap people are you referring to? Please be specific by name.

the only possible insider I see in your list is Reince Priebus. Also I do not think there is a person by the name of Golfman Sachs in the cabinet appointments. So far you have only named three people.Sure, head of Exxon, Reince Priebus, Golfman Sachs, etc. All republican establishment top players.
