Don't feel too badly about it though. The MSM can't seem to do so either.
One question remains is how will Trump pay mortgage payments? He still has monthly payments to cover. He gets some income but I’m not sure how his cashflow compares to his debts. He also has about 700 million in loan payments due in the next few years. If he defaults on those he loses even more, so perhaps another bankruptcy is possible.

Criminals don’t get breaks because they want to cover their crimes behind the presidency. He’s an ordinary citizen right now, and even with that he gets preferential treatment.

What makes you think that these judges are "liberal"? Even supporting the Democratic party would not make them liberal since the Democrats are center left. The Republicans used to be center right. Now they have given up the center. Liberal would be left of the Democratic party. Unfortunately right of the Republican party is apt to be far right today.

The jury verdict in the sexual abuse/defamation case was unanimous, and what lead to his huge financial penalty was continuing to defame his victim after he failed to convince the jury. The amount of damages was set by the jury, not the judge or plaintiff's lawyers.
In the civil fraud case, Trump's attorneys allowed the bench trial to go forward without even trying to get a jury. In that case, the judge is a liberal Democrat who had ruled against Trump in the past. Trump's attorneys tried to get a different judge, but Engoron was kept on because of his experience with Trump's businesses in New York. Unfortunately, Trump behaved just as badly in this trial as he did in the sex abuse/defamation trial, taking every opportunity to attack the judge, court personnel, and prosecuting attorney. He was warned repeatedly that his behavior could make the penalties against him worse, but remaining civil in a civil trial seems beyond the man's abilities. Anyway, he got himself in deep doodoo with his own antics. Now he'll have a chance to appeal the ruling, if he can find any evidence that the judge ruled unfairly or failed to interpret the laws properly. Just the fact that the judge was a Democrat will not be grounds for appeal. The judge found the evidence of fraud overwhelming, and most commentators seem to agree that Trump had no real legal defense to fall back on. Hence, all the chaos and drama that he generated during the trial instead of a reasonable legal defense.
