It may be more like some kind of civil "cold war" of sorts, not any kind of secession or outright shooting war.

But with governors like DeSantis and Abbott out there, along with various politicians, sheriffs, mayors, police chiefs, judges, and others who might be in a snarly mood, they might find ways to make life difficult for anyone in their jurisdiction who might be from the "other side."

I recall hearing about some towns and communities which were known to be hostile to anyone considered an "outsider." Some places might get slightly entrenched and even more xenophobic than they already are.

good, so of course they deny his ending the cold war.
But he did indeed foster that result. It wasn't so much
due to spending the Soviets into the ground when they
tried to keep up militarily. He did an about face on the
evil empire view to become friendly towards Russia, &
exploiting Gorbachev's receptivity to peace.

I'm not sure Reagan 'ended the cold war'. But he was smart enough to grease the path when Soviet internal issues started impacting.
Which is as much as anyone could really have done.

His path to power is the enormous discontent of the working class brought on by many decades of political corruption and neglect that has only served the wealthy elites.

Many supporters fit that description.
But so do Biden's.
So it's not a defining trait for MAGAs.
