Obama is not really black. He just got a politically advantageous skin color.
I have to admit that this is probably the first time I've ever seen that being black is somehow advantageous in running for president. In 2007 in Pennsylvania, which is more of a blue than a red state, 1/4 of the people polled said they would not vote for a black for president on that basis alone.

Possibly you are unaware of a concept called "affirmative action".
Or the fact that Obama wasn't expecting voters from every demographic to vote for him, just democrats.

I taught about it so, ya, I'm familiar with it alright, but I can't quite figure out your angle on this, so maybe you can explain? How did Affirmative Action supposedly feed into Obama's victory?

I don't know what might have happened if Harvard hadn't had an affirmative action program 25 years ago.
Nobody does.
But it was there.

And so you are stating that this was the only way he got in, right? How do you supposedly know this?

Not Religious
If the Dem's are not the party of the rich and white then why are so many rich and white contributing to the Dem's, including the Hillary in this election cycle.
Dem's are the party of middle class workers and policies. Since you're not in the middle class, you vote republican. My parents do the same thing, they're in the 1%. Both parties have wealthy donors, the difference is the wealthy donors on the left don't deny climate change and pursue greed. Think more humanitarian. Gates, Buffett, etc. True christians know that greed is one of the 7 deadly sins.
Why is the Hillary in lock step with Wall Street (even your beloved Bernie could see this)
Why is Trump in lock step with Wall Street? Why is Rmoney in lock step with wall street?
Just what have the Dem's done to alleviate poverty in the majority of the large cities they run.
Dem's put forth middle class policies, republicans have been shutting down all new bills in congress that would help the middle class. You vote for them, not me. Which is funny to hear Hannity and the rest complain about black unemployment, black crime, black poverty, black everything. The race card is in full swing with republicans. But it's always been that way.
What has the Hillary put forward to improve the struggling economy?
Let's see, public education funding, middle class policies like the ACA, raising the MW, keeping assistance programs, social security, medicare, climate change, green energy, amnesty, etc

The problems with republicans, is that they have no middle class policies.

No, I didn't state any such thing.
Now did I?
Tom
But the implication was there that this might be the case or you wouldn't have written this: "He just got a politically advantageous skin color" followed by this: "Possibly you are unaware of a concept called "affirmative action".

I wasn't born yesterday, so I do think it's pretty obvious what your drift was.

Try again? That's a good thing and it will go up even more when these billion dollar corporations start paying their fair share.
Doesn't tax revenue help pay down the debt? And you're against that?

What is that? You prefer republican policies where they boost spending and cut taxes?

That's a double whammy
Like when "trickle-down economics" turned out to be "trickle-on economics". Why is it that so many Pubs buy this lie when it's been shown over and over again that it's bogus. The saint that they worship, Reagan, darn near tripled the deficit with his "voodoo economics".

I don't think anyone is against that. Just who do they go after for the money grab time and time again, paying for their incompetence and personal gain and benefit. Typical behaviour coming from people who see themselves as the ruling class.

Why not? Collect on funds hidden in "tax havens," set a cap as to how many deductions you can claim to the largest corporations like GE or BP actually owe something or at least at the bare minimum forfeit their return, put a much higher tax on ways of "making money just because you have money" (things such as investing and collecting interests), overhaul the tax brackets so billionaires, millionairs, and the "hundred of thousandsaires" pay a proportionately fair rate instead of them all paying a rate set at the "hundreds of thousandsaires," and while we're at it tax the hell out of businesses who hire undocumented workers and ship jobs over seas.

I think it would be interesting to study the effects of affirmative action on a university compared to the general working population. But what would be the truly interesting thing, as to what rate a non-AA university highers at compared to the general population, and AA universities, I'm not sure if it could even be done anymore.

Not evidence of racism. Feel free to provide what you think is racism. If mentioning race equals racism then arguably overwhelming majority of the population is racist. BLM would (undoubtedly) be racist.
White nationalism isn't racist?

Mentioning races? He believes that the US must remain majority white from European decent.

I'm not trying to be 'that guy' but really you need to read the stories you link. From your own story...

"Despite the big dollar numbers coming in to the U.S. coffers, it might be a stretch to call 2015 a "record" year for taxes. Experts point out that it's misleading to just look at the dollar amount.

That's because it often increases every year in the same way that the price of cars or other goods are a lot higher today than in the 1990s or 1970s. The prices of just about everything go up.

A better question to ask is whether the U.S. government is collecting more taxes as a percent of the total U.S. economy. In other words, is the government taking a bigger bite of the economy?

The answer is no. In 2015, federal taxes are on track to be about 18% of the economy. That's normal."

It also points out that while individuals in the middle class pay more as a percentage, the wealthy and corporations have managed to lover their contributions to levels not seen in many decades.
