Neither can I.
Here in Europe, nobody cares about Russia.
We have so many troubles, the illegal immigration, the eurocracy, the inflation...we don't have the time to waste on Ukraine and Russia who are not in the EU. We exclusively speak of our own problems: the farmers protesting, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium...
It's absolutely astounding that the US have the time to waste on Russia. This obsession is insane.
Being obsessed with a country which is so distant from Washington DC is not normal...
or maybe the Americans do want to conquer Russia and seize its resources. And won't admit it? ;)

I don't know that very many Americans really cared all that much about Russia either. The British always seemed more threatened by Russia (and Germany) than America ever was, but mainly back in the imperial/colonial era. I can't see how any of it applies today, but old habits die hard.

The US could have very easily just packed up and left Europe after 1945, but it was the Europeans who wanted Americans to stay, due to their fears of the USSR. If Americans really had designs on conquering Russia, the time to do it would have been right after WW2 - which is what Patton was itching to do anyway. But there was really no need for America to do that, and we had plenty of other sources of resources we could use. At this point, we have far bigger concerns to worry about here in America.

I don't believe it, honestly.
With all due respect.
Why have Americans done anything to prevent the two pipelines from being built?

I don't think the U.S. has any reason to meddle with European pipelines anyway. Of course, that may not mean anything, as our government has a long track record of engaging in pointless, useless endeavors which bring no benefit to the American people whatsoever. Americans spend so much on military adventurism, yet get nothing in return.

They are the same élites. It turns out Soros is in the US, most of the time.

Then these aren't really "American" elites then, are they?

I love Americans. But only American commoners. I detest the CIA and all the Deep State.
Why should I believe the American Deep State, after all the evil they did to us?
The emails disclosed by Wikileaks show that the US government stabbed us in the back. By destroying Libya, who was our ally.

Why did Italy need Gaddafi?
Because Italy has always had since the times of Craxi the dream of a Marshall Plan for Africa.
The dream of creating prosperity and wealth in the African countries: and Gaddafi was implementing it, through the Africa Union and through the Libyan dinar.
Killing Gaddafi was destroying the work of decades.

It's hard to say where it really comes from. One could argue that the Italian Mafia became so powerful as to be able to infiltrate the CIA and other aspects of US government and society to the point where they are now "totally legitimate" (as Michael Corleone put it in The Godfather). They were presumed to be blackmailing J. Edgar Hoover over his alleged homosexuality, and the Mob's connections with Cuba also put them on the playing field with the CIA in the Bay of Pigs, along with other shady operations in Latin America. JFK and Nixon reportedly had Mob ties. If they've been able to infiltrate, subvert, and co-opt multiple government agencies, who can say how far it goes?

If there is any kind of "deep state," I imagine it would be something akin to Fredo Corleone heading up The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight.

I think that the US citizens are just victims of the propaganda. Created to shift the attention from the real enemies, who are those financial powers....
We have never had an anti-Russian propaganda, just because there was the Italian Communist Party and the Russians even named a city after its leader, Tol'jatti.
For instance I didn't mean that Americans are obsessed: it's the propaganda machine which works like that.

I think politicians are all in good faith, including Biden.
Unfortunately they are manoeuvred by those financial and banking powers.
Then these aren't really "American" elites then, are they?
No. Stateless élites. Or better, supranational élites.

Of course. Mobsters crave power...they are like ravenous wolves who need power to survive as entities.
So I believe that their economic power enabled them to infiltrate the CIA. I am called a conspiracy theorist all the time, but I believe that JFK was killed by two mobsters: James Files and Chuck Nicoletti.
Unfortunately in Italy the mafia has always been against Socialists...and it has built a Deep State that was meant to repress the students' movement in the seventies, and to create terror. And there has been this investigation that led to the conclusion that a part of the Freemasonry has strong ties with the Sicilian mafia.
Money-hunger and power join hearts and souls.

Back to the topic...the CIA obey powerful people...and they can be anyone.

If there is any kind of "deep state," I imagine it would be something akin to Fredo Corleone heading up The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight.
The Deep State is actually connected to all the 438 Unregulated Government Agencies, that can now Unconstitutionally make laws, rules and regulations that bypass the votes of Congress. The Constitution states that only Congress can make the laws of the land, but Congress has, over the years, has handed this power off the Agencies, which is not in the Constitution.

These Agencies are populated with political appointments and career Government employees, many who have moved up the company ladder and up the hierarchy of power through their 30-40 year careers. These good and loyal Government employees will outlast any President and any Political party temporarily in power for 4-8 years.

You cannot easily fire anyone in government; union rules, with many in the Deep State still loyal to legacy administrations, such as the Cold War and the military industrial complex of their youth. Such would be Government people in the 60's, who are now senior level managers. This is the real power, behind the temporary political power, but it is much less obvious; deep state.

For example, if the EPA decided to alter the gas stove standards, even though the Constitution says Congress is the sole maker of laws, the EPA has been given power to make such new environmental laws, by proxy. They are not elected and cannot be fire even for political scamming. This allows all Politicians in Congress, to avoid tough votes on new unpopular, laws that could impact their reelection. They now have a third party Agency, who will do their bidden, who are above the law; deep state, who cannot be easily fired. The gas stove regulation did not work, not because the EPA did not try or because it got caught. It did not work, because the Republicans made it political; popular appeal, and the Left had to back down; call off the EPA dogs, due to the poor polling; deep state can offer legal protections, but not political protections.

As another example, there are Immigration laws, already on the books that were created by Congress, per the Constitution. These are the true Constitutional laws on the books for immigration. This should be the law of the land based on the Constitution if we did not have a corrupt Government via the deep state. The question is how did Biden break so many of these laws, mess up immigration, create a huge social debt, all without any legal accountability?

Biden made use of the deep state, by appointing Mayorkas to be the head of Homeland Security. He also used other Agencies. Since such Agencies can make new laws, apart from Congress, they are sort of above the Congressional law on the books. Biden let them do the dirty work. Congress had a hard time impeaching Mayorkas, since that could set a dangerous precedent that impacts all future Agency attack dogs and scams.

Both sides cheat this way, but there is a push on the Right, to force all agencies to come under the laws of Congress. This change is being avoided by the Democrats and some Republicans, since the deep state is an easy way to cheat with a solid political buffer. This resistance is also due to the Democrats having formed the most agencies, for this purpose, under the guise of helping people and the earth. However, behind the scenes; they can call in favors, and these Agencies can be used to free lance, with a wink and nod. Congress is buffered and the Agencies of the deep state are protected. Technically, Biden is not legally accountable for all the downside of the illegal immigration. But politically, the common person knows the buck stops at the top. This will impact his re-election, even if Mayorkas and others did the dirty work and are untouchable.

If your party was in charge, "you" can have the IRS target your political opponents on a wink and a nod. Nothing will happen to the attackers since they cannot be fired and they can pretend this selective justice was legitimate, based on a new obscure law they make just before releasing the dogs. You; in charge, gets to intimidate your opponent and nothing can be done, with no blame even reaching you, even if the crap hits the fan. The Democrat base seems to think Biden is innocent, since nothing ever happens to him. They do not understand the deep state buffer and how the dogs are loyal and protected.

Since all politicians need campaign donations, the $billionaire donor class is also part of the swamp, by buying politicians, who will use an Agency or two to target their competition; Big Oil will be targeted by the EPA, as they favor Electric. They will regulate old drilling but they will allowing fast tracking lithium strip mining. As another example, the DOJ, out of nowhere, reneged on a long standing business deal that had been made with Elon Musk for electric car development. This is punishment for buying Twitter and messing up the censorship scam for 2024.

The Democrats are also using DEI backed judges, via the DOJ, to go after Trump. Even if Trump wins all the battle, like he is doing, the Agency crooks are never fired, for their obvious shakedowns. This dynamics of Donors, Politicians and Agencies is the Swamp in a nutshell. Agencies are the deep state; behind the scenes power via unregulated law making. Each Administration, grows a new swamp head on the same deep state, snake body.

Regulating the lawless Regulatory or Deep Agency State, will be top priority for the next Republican President. The Democrats will resist and want to expand it, since pigs like to wallow in the swamp mud. If you try to clean up the Democrats pigs, they will go back to the mud, unless the ponds are all dried up. We need to protect them and us from their pig tendencies.

A good legal test case that can be used to combat the swamp, may be all the national and state debt, being created by immigration, without Congressional approval. Only Congress has the power of the purse. This immigration debt was not approved or legal without Congressional approval. Typically, the swamp, will vote for money or loans, after such swamp rip offs to cover themselves; added to the next budget. However, this may be a good case to address the overreach of the deep state. They got Al Capone via the IRS, was ripping off the tax payers.

Hypothetically, say Trump was to get in. Instead of allowing Congress to allot money to cover the swamp and deep state money crime of unapproved Congressional spending, they use that debt to hold the Agencies accountable. The states will be in an uproar to get their money back. We can take it away from the Agency budgets, for the next 20 years, or until it is all paid. This may break some agencies. which then can be reinvented into something new and more accountable and not part of the swamp.

This test case extrapolates nicely to all agencies that over spend by creating non Congressional approved laws that created excessive burden on tax payers. No Agency has the power to impose or levy taxes. It is good that the Republican held back on paying off the illegal ill gotten gain of illegal Agency immigration expenses, out of reflex; recent voided immigration spending bill. A good issue to run on, will be holding Agencies accountable for obliging the tax to pay money, they are not entitled to spend; add debt.

This reminds me of the journalist Peter Bergan interviewing Osama bin Laden aka the interview of the century.

Or Dan Rather interviewing Saddam Hussain.

Seems we now have 3 interviews of the century.
At least those guys pushed back and asked tough questions (you know, like real journalists) and didn't just let dictators give an hour long monologue about how great they are.

Maybe you should start talking to less hateful people.
This was in response to:

Another poster: "Tucker Carlson is just a liar with dangerous goals and motivations.
A perfect match for Putin, come to think of it. It would not surprise me that Putin wrote (or commissioned) the interview's remit before they even met."

Me: I was thinking something along the same lines myself.

Tucker Carlson is a known liar and propagandist. As I pointed out on page one, his own lawyers have argued in court that no reasonable person would take him seriously.

Putin is a known liar and propagandist. And a murderer.

Are you suggesting that I should have less hate for a brutal dictator and a propagandist who pushes racist rhetoric?
No thanks. I find those things completely unacceptable.

I don't understand the geopolitics of the Middle East.
I can only speak about Europe. Ukraine, Russia, EU. Also because I can speak Russian, German, etc...
So if I express a judgment about the conflict in Israel, it's not absolutely from a person who is informed.

It turns out my country supports and sides with Ukraine...so why should I care about Putin's alliances?

Weren't you pro Israel? It places you on an opposing ideological side, which is a faux pas when it comes to simping.
I won't meddle in the complex Middle East geopolitics because I don't have the skills and the knowledge to do that.
Period.
That said, I can only say that my country has expressed its sympathy to Netanyahu.

I could've sworn that you've expressed support for the Israeli side of the conflict, but now you're backpedaling to avoid disagreeing with pookie Putin?

I remind you that when the Americans landed in Sicily, in 1943, the people were exhausted and were sick and tired of the war.
That is why they saw Americans as saviors.

They let Americans occupy the island. They didn't treat them as enemies.

I don't understand the Gazan civilians. If they are victims of Hamas, why don't they do the exact same thing?
I won't let anyone dupe me. I am not that stupid.
